Wow...Tim Duncan is such a classey and respectable guy...People who said he has no "character" need to go and get laser surgery....He knows how to motivate this team...He is always there helping his teamates..Pushing them to work hard..But he does it different say from Jordan..He goes out there and he plays hard and expects his team to follow without saying it...Tim knows what hes doing..and hes feeling pretty good about himself now..Also i am very sure he has been working out in the gym during this season..He is starting to look in better shape and looks a lot more nimble on his toes...and is displaying more pwoer and explosivness..The rest of the team just have to find their roles and get going..Then we will be rolling!

That is true. Just because he doesn't brag and show off doesn't mean he has no character. He motivates his teammates just by being there just as much as another player would do with a scream or a slap on the butt.

I think I'd really be scared to play the Spurs right now. Before they even rounded out into their midseason game, they went 33-18. Imagine in Duncan and others played like this all year?

Tim Duncan is going to go for 25 and 14 for the rest of the year, most likely. This is why he can carry this team, because when he plays great, everyone else wants to, too.

Wow, what a career goal, I love his determination. I hate how people don't give him props and find him unexciting, they're dead wrong. He's such a pleasure to watch, on and off the court. Reminds me much of The Admiral, a nice and quiet fellow. As much as I want KG to get the MVP, I'd be just as happy with TD getting it for a third time.

Duncan's an incredible player and we all know he will get consideration, but this far into the season, Kevin Garnett deserves the most props. I will say that if Duncan drops 25 and 14 for the rest of the season, he'll deserve it, but right now, Garnett is the leader in my mind.

The argument is always like this: Duncan's team is winning so he deserves it even though Garnett's carrying scrubs to a slightly above average record. Now Garnett has a supporting cast comperable to Duncan's and compare the two teams. Which ever team has the better part two of the regular season deserves to win the MVP by a close margin.

Garnett was arguably had an equal or better cast in the past few years. Before Duncan ever won an MVP.

    [ Who? ]

I'd say that's pretty even. And they almost still are, though Minnesota has the advantage there.

    [ Who else? ]

Minnesota finished with 50-32, then 51-31. That's a nice season, though San Antonio did finish with 58-28, then 60-24 in their championship season.

I was wrong to say that Minnisota had a slightly above average season. I was referring to their playoff struggles for the most part.

Sure, Garnett had Joe Smith, Billups before he was good, and an injury prone Wally Szczerbiak, but that doesn't match the Spurs' Duncan/Robinson duo with Rose, and Parker and later on Ginobili. The main edge San Antonio had was size. Duncan and Robinson were just unstoppable together.

Well, both teams had Twin Towers. Robinson was still an avid rebounder and help defender, but he didn't exactly score anymore. He and Rasho, outside of leadership, were pretty equal (note the seven blocks Rasho had in one of those box scores).

Parker hadn't done much developing his rookie year (see those 2 points on the game?), so we can easily say Billups was much better. Still is, really. Can't argue Ginobili, though. He started off scoring over 10 a game and bringing energy whenever he addded his left handedness to the game.

I can see what you mean by playoff struggles, though. Minnesota really didn't have that veteran leader, and guys played at the same level as in the season, rather than stepping up. Of course, they should've beaten the Lakers last year, but those calls in game two discouraged them.

Yeah, I've been on the Minnesota bandwagon since I saw Garnett, Cassell, and Spree together and I'm hoping their playoff struggles will end this year and those three can lead the T-Wolves past the first round and hopefully deeper but this isn't the forum to talk about Minnesota at length.

The Spurs look better than ever and I love the team they've put together this year. They are so deep! Duncan's a great guy and leader even if he's a little soft spoken and he's a proven champion. Peace out.

Yes Duncan is a great player...The MVP will just have to wait to the end of the season to find out who he is...I would LOVE for Timmay to get it again...People that say he didnt deserve it the last two years..Thats a knock on Tim..He IS the best player in the NBA..KG is great but not QUITE there..Tim will just think his way around the game!

And suddenly, Timmy can shoot free throws. He went 8-11 against the Rockets last night, and all the makes where nice strokes.

If duncan continues to play like this, he may be looking at a 3rd straight mvp title
