Jason Taylor and Zack Thomas had a few "WTF?" things to say about Ricky... Mainly things like "stupid" and "stupid" and "stupid." That was on NFL Countdown, though. I didn't see/hear Jimmy's comments.

I heard Ditka ripped into him. A friend here said JJ's comments were nothing we had not heard before and any team that acquires him after this is insane. Sounds like a job for Al Davis.

Didn't see/hear the Johnson comments, but Ditka said that Ricky couldn't be trusted to came back and play. He said that he might have the skills, but he would always doubt the heart, which Ricky doesn't have right now.

I heard Ditka on ESPN Radio Friday night and he ripped much harder....he said Ricky was acting like a "spoiled child" and that he needed a spanking....he said hes tried to call him but Ricky doesnt want to talk to him because Ricky knows Iron Mike is gonna blast him....the saga continues....the odd thing to me is that Ditka sings Wannstedts praises everytime the ricky thing is brought up and I know they didnt always get along with Dave replacing Ditka in Chicago...

Remember, Ditka was one of the idiots that was involved in the Saints giving up so much to bring Ricky into the NFL in the first place (What a dumbass). I hear that they do extensive research on first-round draft picks. I blame Ditka and the Saints for givng us Ricky Williams, the biggest self-imposed bust in league history.

Ricky Williams make me think of Lawrence Phillips for some reason. What do you think they have in common? I'll give you three guesses.

Oh and by the way, Ditka is still riding on the coat-tails of Buddy Ryan and Walter Payton. F*** Mike Ditka.

Here's what Jimmy Johnson said about Ricky...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"He wrecked the Miami Dolphins," Johnson said Sunday. "If you want to walk away from the game and go smoke dope in Asia, fine. But don't do it a week before the season. The other thing is, he considered coming back for more money. That told me a little bit about this guy. Down the road, Ricky is going to be broke and will want to come back and play. Now I'm a liberal coach, but I wouldn't touch this bum because he doesn't have any passion for the game."</div>

I thought Jimmy wrecked the Dolphins by bringing in Dave Wannstedt as assistant head coach and then walking away, leaving the DWO to fester in the Vanilla Dave Era....

Speaking of wrecking teams, Ditka did a fair number on the Saints.
In Chicago, Ditka lost his job after the falling out between him and Michael McCaskey. You know what the argument was over? Control over personell decisions. Ditka then goes to New Orleans and gives away a bunch of draft picks for Rickey Williams. It's taken New Orleans a long time to recover from that, and it was all Ditka's idea.

What's even more ironic about this whole thing is that immediately after Ditka was denied that personell control, Dave Wannstedt was hired and given the personell control that Ditka wanted. LOL! Yes, Vanilla Dave.

BF1, you may not agree, but ROTR is right.

Ditka traded his entire draft for Ricky... Sat in the press room after the pick in that stupid wig and talked about how Ricky was the best thing since bottled beer. Said that he (Ditka) was on his way to the golf course since his draft was done.

The saga in Chicago is well covered and supported... What don't you agree with? The fact that your Icon isn't perfect? Hell, even Mr. Davis has missed on a few chances.

Take it easy man, the sun will rise again. I understand that this was a bad week for you with tropical storms, fantasy football, Bears losing to the Lions at home, having to wear the Bucs logo as your new avatar...

Okay, how about this then. "Iron" Mike Ditka was a great head coach. When he coached the Bears for 11 years, they were over .500 in 7 of those 11 seasons and they won a Superbowl. Not many people have done that in their carreers.

Jimmy did wreck Miami by bringing in his buddy, the Vanilla one. Having Ditka would've meant the press conferences would have been more interesting. It would essentially be the same style on both sides of the ball w/ Iron Mike so I fail to see the difference.

Not sure if were talking about the same team. When I mentioned the irony part, I was talking about Ditka leaving the Bears, then Vanilla Dave taking over (for the Bears, not the Dolphins).

I agree with you about the Johnson/Wannstedt/Dolphins thing.

I meant Ditka would have employed the same philosophies (O & D) as dw.

However, Ditka would be smart enough to realize tht when something is not working or when others have figured out what you do to tweak it a little.
