We have to Fire some personnel, because we aren't going anywhere with the current personnel. 1st, we have to fire John Gabriel. We have had so many busts/good players under our grasp because of Gabriel. The good players turned good after we dealt them. All of our draft picks seem like busts(but when they leave they'll probably do good). We need to get someone who has proven to be a good talent finder and who will go overseas and scout those players. 2nd, we have to fire Johnny Davis. If it didn't work under Doc, why would it work under JD? Doc is a much better coach than JD. Half the times when I watch the game, I don't think JD has any idea of what he's doing. I just think we need a change and to start over and get someone who will play our young guys. 3rd, our team needs to be sold to someone who likes basketball. Devos is a hockey person. As long as the new owner agrees to keep the franchise in Orlando, then Devos should sell it. We just need to go in a new direction. Change everything up a little bit. Opinions?
I agree. Its funny how a couple year ago Gabriel was being touted as executive of the year. Ever since signing Mcgrady and Hill he really has made some really bad moves. I don't like the pickup of Juwan Howard (yah I know Mcgrady wanted him too), he takes away from the minutes that Gooden needs to develope. Add in the fact that he is signed for a multi year deal they are stuck. They thought Tyronn Lue could make it as a starting point guard.....WRONG!! It seems like the players he signed are going to be there for awhile unless traded which doesn't bode well for fans in Orlando. Doc was a good coach and because it didn't work under Doc doesn't mean it will work under Johnny Davis (Who??). Magic could fire him and sign Jim Obrien but I don't think he will want to come to Orlando because of the players that are there. Magic need to rebuild (obviously), hopefully they get a good pick in the draft to help them but its gonna take more than that to get them out of the gutter.
I agree with firing Johnny Davis. When Doc was fired, we needed someone with fresh ideas, not just another person who worked with Doc already. And what pisses me off the most is that Gabriel wants to keep him. WHY? He lets people like Shaq get away, and then wants to hold on a coach guiding us to a .300 record? Madness!
I think Shaq wanted to leave. But I agree with firing Davis. Maybe Gabriel is too broke to look for a new coach after all the free agent signings he did.
Jim O'Brien would be perfect for us. He's a great defensive coach. If somehow we can convince him to come, that would be great. The chance to coach Tmac hopefully will be good.
Agreed, Obrien would bring in his kind of people as well. People who hustle and do the little things to win. Orlando's defence would be better off with Obrien at the helm but are they willing to sign him and pay him? Or is he even willing to sign with Orlando?
I agree with you. 1) Gabe needs to be just fired and banned from his job. he just made so many mistakes. I think all the Magic fans no this 2)Johnny Davis needs to get fired because he just doesn't know what he's doing. I mean look at are record for one. 3) The Magic need to stop worrying about this season and start looking forward to the future. That's just how I see it.
Fire gabriel...and JD...I mean just another mistake...not giving Hunter enough playing time...he will probably end up in Charlotte and be a Ben Wallace...which I think he could be, but I dont think Lue has done a bad job at all...when we need him to score he is nothing but net and when we need him to pass he passes the ball..again is all about coaching staff if they tell him to shoot first before looking for an open player.
Owner- Ok, I can go with that.. But if this owner is gonna be into it, he better make these changes we want.. Get a new GM that actually knows what hes doing with Talent.. GM- I don't know crap about GM's.. So i can't comment.. But get someone who knows his talent when he sees it.. Coach- Johnny is a nice guy and really dosnt deserve to get fired after the situation he got dumped in.. But he has to go.. He is not what the magic need in a coach. Jim O' Brien sounded great to me, but Like Court Vision said, i highly doubt Jim would want to sign in Orlando as a coach.. But what about as a GM? Everyone thought Zeke should be a coach, what if Jim stepped in as a GM.. He could surprise us, like Thomas did in New York.. Bring in a good coach.. Just a thought, I dont know much about Jim O' Brien though.. The Team- Ill go to postions.. Point Guard- Trade Strickland to Cleveland for one of their PG's... I am sure a Kevin Ollie for some veteran leadership would be good... We also need to dump Lue. I dont know what they where thinking picking him up, when there where so many other better PG's out there.. instead of wasting time with Howard, why didnt we go after Andre Miller? Instead we have Lue.. Who don't get me wrong, is good, but I am not impressed with him.. Keep Williams, and make him the starter.. Hes good enough to be so.. Shooting Guard- Yeah... Small Forward- Keith Bogans.. Then we have to see Gordan's situation at the end of the year.. If he dosnt get better.. Ship him... I think hes a free-agent.. Id sign and trade for something if all possible.. We have Grant Hill next year if hes smart.. With Bogans learning from someone like Grant, i think it would help immensly.. Power Forward- We got to ship Howard out and we have to do it now.. Gooden has to start and next year we can look forward to having Gooden and Garrity give us a 1-2 at the forward spot with Shooting and Down Low Authority.. Center- I am hoping they keep Hunter, We can't trade him.. Hes one guy that they want to trade, but we can't.. Id love to have Dwight Howard play here in this postion too.. But.. Please for the love of god, Trade Andrew Delclerq.. Ship him off.. Trade him for like 2 Dolllars.. And if we can't trade him, just cut him..
