He has recently stated that he wouldn't mind playing for a contender. Maybe the Timberwolves could pick him up? He would be a great veteran to have on the bench with Hudson out.

Hmm....interesting idea. I wouldn't mind having him on our team at all. But I don't see us making trades while we are doing good.

True, but it depends on who we give up I guess.

No, Erick has not stated anything about wanting to play for a contender. Rod Strickland is the guy who has stated he wouldn't mind playing for a contender considering he is 38 and won't be playing much longer.

Oh, I thought you meant that there was no Erick Strickland. [IMG] I wouldn't mind having Rod again, either. He could be what we need.

Yeah, its Rod Strickland who said that...how he likes Orlando but wants to be moved to a contender...he knows Flip's system, and is a veteran influence...he would fit in perfectly again with the Wolves...

Rod Strickland might be a great addition, but the TWolves point guard spot is locked up with Troy Hudson and Cassell, so I definitely don't see Rod making the kind of impact he made last season.

Yes, but we are looking for a permanent 3rd string point guard because Hudson has been injured for a good fraction of the year and Sam Cassell can't play the whole game. And Rod has good veteran experience and already knows the system. And he isn't selfish and doesn't need to take shots. He loves to set people up, and that is what we need. He also plays pretty good defense, which will set us up better on defense, if at all possible. But the likelihood of us getting him again are pretty slim, although I would love to have him on the team again.

Right now he is the third string for the Milwaukee Bucks.

    Point Guard Inquiries

The Wolves might go after Goldwire (again) or Rod Strickland. Derrick Martin is asked to do one thing on offense, and that's to hit uncontested shots. He's shooting at .286 right now [IMG] and is not keeping the defense honest. Mateen Cleaves was a legend at Michigan State , why not give him a chance?
