The Grizzlies tied their franchise record for wins last night at 28. It's only February, and Memphis has a chance of making this season one to remember. Thanks to Jerry West, the Grizz are in a great position to make the playoffs this season. Any predictions on how many wins they'll get once all this is over?
The Grizzlies have come a long way. I don't think any fans expected them to make the turnaround like they did. Jerry West promised playoffs, and it's playoffs we'll get. People have knocked on West before by saying that he was lucky with Kobe, but he has proven that he really does know more about basketball than probably anyone else. I do not want the Grizzlies to trade anyone, because right now they've got so much chemistry. I do not think any other coach besides Hubie Brown could have gotten this club up to the sixth seed position either. I hope the Grizzlies maintain the sixth spot, but I'll be satisfied with any playoff spot. "I would like to get 50 wins. Why not say it?" Gasol said. "But to say it and get it done are a different story. We just have to go game by game and not give away any games that we have to win. We have to stay focused and keep our feet on the floor because it's going to get tough after the All-Star Game." - Pau Gasol

Don't count your eggs before they hatch man. I say 7th or 8th and lose in 6 games in the first round. I'll bet you anything the Rockets will finish above Memphis bro.

If I recall it's Grizzlies - 2, Rockets - 0. The Rockets just don't have the depth the Grizzlies do. With depth comes endurance. What if Yao gets injured or something? If Jason Williams gets injured we'll just put in Watson and everything will be back to normal. Also, the majority of the Grizzlie's games are at home. They've also yet to play the majority of their Eastern Conference schedule.

It all comes down to who wins more games, and the Rockets probably will have more wins come playoff time.

Through the first half of the season, they've had a top ten schedule without a question. I know it doesn't matter who wins the match ups when talking about which team will get the higher seed, but if you're trying to say the Rockets are better then it certainly helps my case. What if the Rockets lose Francis or Ming though? The Grizzlies are a deep team and can go the duration of the season at the same consistant pace they have gone so far, but with Houston you have to wonder.
I don't think Francis or Ming will be lost at any time this season. When you look at Memphis' roster, it looks like a talented but inexperienced team that can play for a championship one day. The last three playoff spots will be a tough fight between Denver, Houston, Memphis and Utah, Seattle etc.
Memphis is such a great team, they'll go so far as time passes and the roster improves. Much like the Nuggets and the Cavs, as much as you guys like him, I say rid yourselves of Gasol, he doesn't have as much presence as other Big Men. As for who to get, I'm not sure, maybe you can pick up someone nice from the next Draft.

Look at the Lakers this season, they have 4-5 players who are in the rotation who aren't playing and they've gone 11-15 since they started losing them.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Phreeze:</div><div class="quote_post">what if Garnett breaks a leg</div> Mark Madsen becomes the best player in the West and an MVP candidate. But I see what you're saying, a lot of fans dwell on what if's. Like I could be dwelling on what if Wally, Hudson, and Olowokandi never got hurt, would we be better? I could care less, just care about what's happening now. But the Grizzlies do have a great shot at making the playoffs, but their seeding will probably be in the bottom 2 or 3. This is my playoff seedings: 1.Timberwolves(this is not a bias opinion, I really think they could pull this off) 2.Kings 3.Spurs 4.Mavericks 5.Lakers 6.Grizzlies 7.Rockets 8.Denver Of course, there is only 2 Pacific division teams, so I don't know if that is violating any rules. But the Grizzlies have a great shot at getting a pretty good seed in the playoffs.

T-wolves (not by much, but they still have some injured players) 2. Kings (with Webber back, they contend for the #1 seed) 3. Spurs (the champs manage a 3rd seed) 4. Lakers (make an end of season push with all their players healthy. Remember- they were #1 until Karl Malone got hurt!) 5. Mavs (loads of talent; it's too hard to say where they will end up, but they must improve on defense!!!) 6. Rockets (Yao and Francis manage a 6th seed--just barely.) 7. Grizz (Finally make the playoffs) 8. Nuggets (They start to slide at the end of the season, but still qualify) Noteables: Jazz, Blazers
