Pierce abused us in the 2nd quarter. Lebron needs some real work on his D. Pierce is just crossing us over on the perimeter and then waltzing through the lane for a lay up.
And if he's not scoring he's finding the open guy......hope the rest of the Celtics don't hit those shots, we'll have a chance.
I'm back people. Looks like Pierce and LeBron are having rough shooting nights, Cavs are up late in the 4th here. Cavs have scoring from everywhere, that looks to be the difference in this game. There was a 10 minute delaye due to a clock malfunction, looked like it maye have helped the Cavs because Pierce was getting warm. ---------- Cavs win 97/89 <font size="1">Box Score </font> Great win by the Cavs, very well rounded performance as the Cavs lead really the whole night. James and Pierce jacked it up 55 times, Paul scoring 32 and James scoring 24. Z had 19 and 16, one of his better games of the season. Williams had an awesome game with 16, 8, and 1, doing all of the little things like setting the picks, taking the charges, and drawing fouls. Ricky Davis had 10, 6, and 2 in the loss and was bood every time he touched it, scored, or name was announced.
Good game for the Cavs. They really needed this win over Boston after a horrible second quarter brought upon them by P2. Nice oop by James, and a nicer windmill... and he says he doesn't wanna be in the contest. -___-
Yeah James had a handful of very nice dunks in this one, just saw the highlights. James also became the youngest player ever to score 1000 points, and it is not even close either.
Yeah, did you see Moondog shoot half court shots with Peirce? Backwards! And he made one!! That was sweet! Glad to see the fans boo Ricky. I hope we can stop talkin about this joker now.

Not a particularly good game by the Cavs, but we'll take it. We're lucky that Welsch wasn't on tonight, as I was looking for a Fred Hoiberg type of game out of him. Perimeter defense still needs a lot of improvement, but what else is new. Anthony also went over 1,000 points tonight. Wallace just got traded to the Hawks, its a shame that we could have had him...this still bothers me.
Just got done watching my Cavs vs Celts bootleg. This game was actually very entertaining. Ricky gets booed, he travels twice, bahaha good stuff. Those Renegades are somethin else, King Davis. meh.
Cavs display perfect timing <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">20th victory ends drought vs. Celtics, tightens race for playoffs The Clinton Administration was still in charge, Justin Timberlake was having ``wardrobe malfunctions'' with Britney Spears, and LeBron James didn't yet have a driver's license. Needless to say, it had been a long time since the Cavaliers had beaten the Boston Celtics. Relatively speaking, though, they picked a good time to do it, rallying down the stretch Monday night for a 97-89 win. It was the first time since Nov. 4, 2000, that the Cavaliers had taken down the green and white, a span of 13 games. It pulled them to within two games of the Celtics for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. It was also a psychological boost, not only dumping the Boston monkey but also reaching the 20-win plateau, a goal that the Cavaliers (20-32) had set for themselves before the All-Star break.</div> Full Story Only just over 30 posts in this thread? Slow day fellas?
When i look at stats, i'm thinking that it wasnt good game for Cavaliers. But it wasnt good for Celtics too. Someone must win... We have to win more games if we want to go to the Play-offs. Former Cavs Ricky and Chris score 12 points and former Celtics score 16. I think that trade with Boston was good for us.
Defense states winning case <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Ira Newble decided to develop a tenacity on defense when he was in college. There were so many scorers at Miami of Ohio that Newble figured he had only one way to get the ball. "The only way I was going to get a chance to score was if I got a steal or a rebound," Newble said. "I took pride in defense because I didn't want the guy I was defending to score a lot of points. There's not a lot of glamour in playing defense but I'm not playing for that. I'm playing for the love of the game and it's paying me." Paul Pierce was on his way to another scoring spree, but Newble's second-half defense put Pierce in check and the Cavs managed a 97-89 victory over the Boston Celtics Monday night at Gund Arena. LeBron James led the Cavs with 24 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 19 points and had 16 rebounds as the Cavs (20-32) moved 2? games behind the Celtics (23-30) for the eighth playoff spot. </div> Full Story
LBJ became the youngest player in the history of the NBA to reach 1,000 points, Carmelo also reached 1,000 points last night when Denver made the trip to Memphis.

Yeah, congratulations LeBron, hopefully he takes Kobe's record to 10 000 points to! Kobe don't deserve it!

I know it's too early to be saying this, but as long as LeBron stays healthy, he is on track to break Kareem's record. I'm sure the Mailman will break the record eventually, but i'm positive one day LeBron will break, although it'll be many many many many years after the Mailman retires.
