Rasheed Wallace Traded For Abdur-Rahim And Ratliff

That was a rumor there are no facts to prove that... Rumors are often wrong... For instance Nash was supposedly going to trade Rasheed to knick's and to the mavericks did any of those happen... No... Don?t believe the rumor mill.

Also I think since I live in Portland I would of heard if Rasheed rejected an offer specially since the media loves to report about him. Also why are you so sure Darius will be removed from the starting position? These 2 new players have yet to prove themselfs to the Blazer fans and coaching staff. Darius has been rock soild over the time he has been here.

as much as i'd hate seeing kobe in that bird uniform next year (unless they change it to a way nicer version, just like Nugz do with Anthony coming and Cavz do with Bron coming) kobe gotta look at their offer... because (assuming they let sheed go, which i think they will) first, the team is 15 mil or so under the cap so they can offer him crazy money... second, atl fans love kobe (those chants "MVP MVP" last season just says so much)... third, he can make hawks his team.... this trade IMO is not about the five players that got involved in the trade, it's about the Kobe!!

I just heard about this like 2 seconds ago!!!! I go to the BYU game, we outscore the opponents 16-2 in OT, I'm on cloud 9. I get home and just about everybody on my buddy list has im'd me about this ish!! I'm am going to go and buy every color of Sheed Jersey tommorow.

Yeah, but we can understand it more from Kobe's stand point, he basically said he wanted to test the free agent waters. I think we can all figure Sheed was tired of Portland, and he needed a fresh start.

Bill Walton is a shitty announcer and sucks... He didn?t know a trade was going to happened he wanted one to happen and perhaps instigated one with his continues bashing of Rasheed Wallace and It will not end just because he got traded.

the way you got pissed it's funny but i feel you... you a true fan... i hope 10 years from now though you don't squeeze your wallet to collect more than 15 sheed jerseys (just kidding)...

 

Me and Trail_Blazer76 are going to get Jersey's even thou we are in different places. The Blazers will not be as exciting without there front man Rasheed Wallace. He was our energy with his high impact slams. Now we really only have one person who can jam really well Darius, and he may not even be here next year.

 

It's rough man. I always hear people say that being a fan of the player makes them a fan of the team. I used to think that's how I was, but when Bonz got traded I didn't become a grizz fan. I doubt I'll become a Hawk fan now either. We still have DA and Mouse, and I think they are safe.

I will always be a fan of Rasheed Wallace... Don?t worry about him being on the hawks that most likely will not be true next season... What if Rasheed Resigned with the blazers and came back ha-ha that would be so cool.

DA is cool but not one of my favorites. Mouse, Darius, Sabonis, Rasheed, Clyde, Clifford, Bonzi, those were my favorites and most of them are no longer playing for the Blazers.

yeah i like gilbert but i'm not a wizards fan... maybe yet... the way they're playing now it's tough not to love them... and i also like nuggets because their jerseys are so so so nice and they are playing well (rebounding from sactown's blowout loss) for a home win vs seventh-seeded Grizz.... but i have no fave player there....

I think there's a reason Blazers trading him for Reef, and it's not like Sheed wants to resign with them anyway since he declined the contract extension from the team earlier about one-two weeks ago....

 

Shareef must have been ecstatic when he got the call from Billy Knight saying he was being traded to the Blazers since he has publicly stated he was unhappy in Atlanta (can you blame him? haha). We all knew that Sheed was going to be traded somewhere, we just didn't know where, I don't think anyone would have ever predicted this trade to take place.

I really don't think the attendance at Hawks home games will change dramatically. I'm sure for a few weeks it will slightly rise just due to the curiosity factor and the fact that the media will be all over this deal. Personally, i'd rather see Shareef playing than Sheed.

This deal is just temporary for the Hawks, I think the real shockers will come in the offseason, I can't wait to see what moves the Hawks will make when the season is over. This was a fantastic move for the Blazers and i'm sure a lot more people will be paying attention to them now.

 

I definetely agree with you Accord, it will be interesting to what the Hawks can do. Now with the Magic and Hawks gonna be in the same division, it would get Tmac and Kobe even more of a rivalry if he goes there.

I don't understand why you Blazer fans are that mad. Yes, Sheed was good and has been there for awhile, but your team has DRASTICALLY improved. IMO Shreef Abdur Rahim > Sheed(and without the problems), Ratliff, Dickau >>>>>> Person. You guys have a legit shot at the playoffs and advancing far now. I figured I would come to this board and see everyone happy, not everyone mad. I had Sheed and Shreef on my fantasy team last year, and Shreef had a better season than Sheed.

He's really changed in my eyes, he's gained a better attitude. Did you see his expression? Also earlier he's been nicer to players and the fans, especially since Bonzi left. I was hoping the trade would happen next year instead. Great gain for both teams, finally the Hawks will have some attitude, in a good way of course. An awesome blocker for the Blazers and an offensive force and boarding force to aid Randolph. I was still very much saddened seeing him go.

 

I know, if I was a Blazers fan, I would be estatic! You finally clean up your image a little while improving your teams talent, and you lose a locker room cancer.
