it will be interesting to see who will want to sign there. after so many experiments with so many different line ups, and throwing some fairly decent line ups on the floor as well...and still not being able to produce a half decent season...i wonder who's gonna want to play there [IMG]

Wasn't directly talking about you when I made my post, but to get a reaction from me because of what I have said when mentioned Vince is injury prone was asking to start something here, which you did.

It really isn't about who you say he is better than but the way you react when posters say something you don't agree with when talking about Vince. It's like an old age pensioner when you don't give her the right change at the corner shop, you seem to have a fit.

    Now thats sorted

Care to keep this thread on topic?

its funny...you always seem to see things in a confrontational way. i wasnt looking to get a "reaction" from you, i was just TRYING to talk ball...thats what i come here for. oddly enough, i come for the discussion, and end up defending myself, my knowledge on ball, and side-stepping surley remarks. to top it off...its 90% from moderators.

again...you see me having fits? truth of the matter is i couldnt be any calmer...now or anytime, but for some reason you see it as some kind of a confrontation. is there something wrong with disagreeing with a mod? apparently so. i remind you of an old age pensioner getting screwed for change? how ironic, you remind me of an old man in the rocking chair that likes to sit back and complain.

You are clearly confused, there is a difference from complaining and being in a basketball debate daily. The last thing I ever do is moan and complain on this board, I like to screw with people's minds and basically out do them in terms of basketball talk. There is a big difference.

Also I must add, don't take the "mod" label too seriously, if you are here to talk basketball and debate about any topic, bringing up your status is kind of pointless.

LOL!!! trust me, i dont take the mod label seriously at all. simple observation, is that when i disagree with anyone whos not a mod, it results in a simple conversation. when i disagree with certain mods, i get insulted. you'd think that mods would have the best interests of the board in mind, but i see it happening on a daily basis with other posters...not exactly helping the site id imagine.

I don't see any mods insulting you here, if It was bad enough there would of been something said. Banter and insults along with stating facts are all different.

Nah not really, my comment was to basically try and compare the situation and get a laugh in at the same time.

It wasn't meant to be taken seriously nor was it an insult, more of a laugh to go with the points we were each making.

The tone between you and me is no different to anyone else. I try and get my points across in a serious by at the same time a humous manor. You should know that by now

    No disrespect is ever intended.

    I'm done with this

Here are some quotes from the Hawks on the trade

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">?(Involving) Shareef is such a tough deal because he?s such a good guy, he is everything you want in a player,? said Knight. ?Unfortunately in the situation we?re in, we are financially strapped. This provides us some immediate flexibility at the end of the season, so what we?ve done is accelerate our rebuilding process.

?We haven?t won the games we should have and when you couple that with the high payroll we would have had next season, it (the deal) gives us the ability to begin our rebuilding process. I can?t emphasize enough how tough this trade was for me personally, especially with Shareef.

?It?s a tough situation, he?s the player making the most money and he?s the player everybody wants. He?s our best player and I have to do what?s best for the organization, and that supercedes what?s best for me.?

wow wow i like the hawks move, basically they're getting sheed to let him go this summer... letting him go will generate big cap room that may land Kobe, after all the hawks fans are not like the sixers, they're fond of Kobe... his last visit to the Phillips Arena last season, after he drained a three pointer, the fans were chanting his name for the season MVP and every one of the fans seemed to cheer for him... now, that's sth that Kobe has gotta consider in the summer.....

I was quite happy for the Blazers for this trade, it'll really get you on your feet. SAR is a hard working scorer and awesome boarder, Ratliff, well he doesn't lead in Blocks for nothing. It's always nice to get a great deal for both good offense and defense in the same deal. I'm sad to see Sheed go though, he began to change, like KJ said though, he won't be a Hawk for long.

Great deal by both team. I really like Shreef, he is one of the most underrated players. He never complains, just goes to work and gets a good 18 10 every night. That's why I like it for Portland. I almost forgot to mention a great shot blocking center in Theo. I like if from Atlanta, because they clear $23 million of salary cap room. They can get some good players. This season is obviously a waste, so they are going to let the younger guys get more minutes now. Now if only they got a pick in return also. Great deal. btw, whoever said about dealing with the Twolves, Juwan is packing his bags right now for you. [IMG]

Very nice trade for the Blazers! They get someone who can play both F positions and they get a legit Center who can block those shots. A frontline with Zach, Reef and Ratliff is scary even in the West.

The Blazers did very well in this deal, I'm somewhat surprised that the Hawks moved good character guys like Abdur-Rahim and Ratliff for a guy like Wallace. Assuming they don't resign him, this deal will help them out a lot with their cap, but I still don't like it for Atlanta. The Blazers did a tremendous job in landing Rahim and Ratliff, and I believe have put themselves right back in the mix in the western conference. Great deal for the Blazers.

I don't like this trade for Portland. I understand Atlanta's move because they want to get rid of cap space but Portland has not really addressed any issues with their team. To make a trade after a team was finding their niche is just going to mix things up again for Maurice Cheeks.

The Blazers acquired Abdur rahim but Randolph plays that position. They picked up Ratliff who dominated the EASTERN CONFERENCE in blocks but they have a reliable Dale Davis in the middle. Now they have Darius Miles at 2? Sorry but I thought 2 guards are supposed to be able to shoot. Are they just trying to overcrowd their roster with talent again? I wonder how Zach Randolph feels about this trade?

Time will tell, but as of right now this trade looks pretty bad.

Whoa, this trade was huge. I guess nobody had predicted that Atlanta will be the ones to get Rasheed huh? Seems like they've given up all their hope for this season. Rasheed will probably never get used to the losing and leave this offseason, so expect ATL to be major players in the free agent market in the offseason. Who's going next? Jason Terry?

From the Blazers point of view, I think they brought in SAR and Ratliff to get back into the playoff picture. This trade was very similar to the New York/Phoenix one. One team gets to clear a bunch of cap room and the other gets the quality players to get back to playoff contention. What a new look Blazers it is. Who'll go next, Mighty Mouse?

I think Reef will be able to move to the three like Wallace had, it's not his natural position, but he's a good enough athlete that I think it could work. D Miles is now the sixth man, make no mistake about that, Derek Anderson will be the starting SG. I like this lineup for Portland, with Stoudamire and Anderson in the backcourt, and Abdur-Rahim, Randolph and Ratliff up front. They also now have more depth with Davis and Miles coming off the bench.

From the Hakws' point of view, this makes sense as well. This trade will work for them IF they let Wallace and Person leave after the season. That will clear up a lot of space and they can go after someone like Kobe. Although they did lose their Center but playoffs are out of reach anyway.

As for the Blazers, Shareef will compensate Zach. He can play the SF position like Sheed.
