I know that the Triangle was originally designed for college defenses by Tex Winter when he was a college coach...as for whether any current teams run the Triangle, I would venture to say that some teams run variations of it, but none focus their entire offense around it every play as the Lakers and Bulls do/did.
I'm not sure really...I know Barry(I think his name was Sam),former coach of Southern Cal whom Winter played for, originated it and Tex Winter expanded upon what Barry developed. I'm pretty sure Winter used the Triangle when he coached at Kansas State...but to answer your question,I don't know of any teams that currently use it. EDIT: I found this..... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Both Geno Auriemma's Connecticut Lady Huskies and Pat Summitt's Tennessee Lady Vols have won NCAA championships because of Winter's innovation. And, as recent as last year, Indiana's Final Four run was helped, in part, by some elements of the "triangle" in the Hoosiers' offense.</div> Link
