Do we have a Nets situation here where the team just bailed on the coach?

    Sad.

What a mess right now in Philly, Larry got out at the right time

Maybe they could go after Scott or O'Brien.

Geez....poor Ayers, facing the same fate as Scott because of his team performing badly. Maybe they should try and get Doc!

[IMG] I would've want someone else but Ford is one of the 50 most winningest coaches,I shouldn't complain before I see the Sixers playin, actually I haven't seen Ford coaching so do you know does he give PT for younger guys too?

Is Ford taking over temporarily, or what? I would love to see Doc in Philly. Orlando is a somewhat similar team.

I think he stays for the reminder of the season and then we're going after Maurice Cheeks unless Ford makes us something great and as for Doc,isn't he gonna coach the Hawks next year and didn't want to coach at all this season [IMG]

Very sad but even despite the injuries the team was losing. Its the coach that gets the can first...always the coach.

Not a big shocker here. Ford is a very good coach, if he does well for the remainder of the season he'll be back.

I hope that Ford will bring that "coach hustle" back to Philly,I didn't see Ayers once to scream on the coach on the foul call like Brown did in the other way I didn't see Ayers scream on the players too [IMG]

I doubt it. He got an extension not too long ago. Unless he gets fired I don't think you'll be getting Cheeks.

Let's hope that Ford gives the rookies more playing time.

I agree, with you ALL THE WAY. Im pretty sure Iverson was coaching the team. I think he was afraid of the players, although I think he was doing a OKAY job, I think he was too easy on the players. I though they would name Alex English as the head coach, but oh well. Im pretty confident in Ford. Hopefully he can turn things around.

Larry caused Philly to lose their games this year uh? interesting

He knew the Sixers were heading in the wrong direction.

Wow. Can't say I didn't see it coming, because Philly is an underachieving team this year. AI has missed a few games due to injures, but he usually pulls them to the playoffs, 21-31 won't cut it.

Who is the longest-tenured Eastern Conference Coach?
