Maybe coach Ford will have a soft spot for KK - After all, Ford did hit the NBA's first EVER three point shot...just a well-known factoid for your consumption...

Another coach get screwed by his players. Everybody dissed Larry Brown for leaving to go to detroit for the better chance to win but the way coaches like B.scott & Randy Ayers. And even O'brien(because if you trade all a teams best players away for basicly nothing your secretly telling the coach bye-bye).But the way the league & its players get sick of coachs I dont blame Larry B for leaving over the summer. In the NBA you have to look out for your self because no one else will. And unlike a the other poster who wouldnt trade Big Dog. I would trade big Dog because I secretly thinks that he is made about not getting enuff shot attempts. And once big Dog starts barking about shot attempts & being un happy with his role on the team he becomes selfish. And once a player becomes selfish it starts to effect everyone on the team. So I would trade him before it starts to effect other(if it already hasnt happened). He proved with the Bucks that stats are the most important thing to him. And him not joining team during time outs during the Nets lose just proves more that he isnt really a team player. Big Dog will never be happy watching AI take all the shots.

Glenn Robinson is a cancer, I completely agree with you Henecy. He wasn't happy in Milwaukee when Ray Allen came in because it effected his numbers. He's not happy with playing a subserviant role to AI. This guy is a very selfish player, he's essentially a black hole whenever he touches the ball. Not that he can't score, he's proven that he can do that. But a team player he isn't, it's no secret that he hasn't been happy with his lesser role on this team. It is sad that players are so easily able to dictate their coaches' future these days. I don't care what Jason Kidd says, he's the main reason that Byron Scott was fired. Big Dog was also a huge contributing factor in Randy Ayer's dismissal - it's sickening. The inmates are running the asylum, this is just another example that money talks. Ayers probably could have done a better job, but he didn't deserve to take the fall for his players lack of motivation.

I think this is a good move, I'm not sure I like Randy as a head coach too much. Sixers had to do something, they can't just sit there and keep on losing. Next up - trade.

Not suprised at all, I saw this one coming a mile away. Philly has got their players back who have been injured, and are still playing horrible ball. No reason for that. Who gets the blame? The head coach of course, I look for Ford to step in and do a decent job.

But do you really think its the head coach that should be to blame...a coach is only there to tell the players what to do...has nothing with their ability to do it....Philly just doesnt have players that want to play with heart just like A.I. said...they are not playing up to their potential....really they didnt give Ayers much of a chance here!

I'd rather see Jim O'Brien here.

Also, am I the only one here who actually is happy that Randy is gone?

Because he's excessively plays bad players and doesn't give the better players more playing time.

It's easy to look bad when you're a first year coach and you're the successor to a guy like Larry Brown. I felt he could have been given the season however, Philly are a bad team, there's no escaping that fact. I don't think it's a coaching problem with this team, but it's a good example of how a coach is always the one with his head on the chopping block.

All in all, it could have been handled better. You get the feeling Philly were just holding onto him until a better option became available. Now that Obie is on the market, they've let him go.

When I first heard the news of this, I, like most of you wasn't surprised. It's always the coaches fault, or the star player's fault. In this case, Allen was his normal self, doing great, being the leader that he is. Other people didn't fulfill their roles and that's a good reason to fire the coach?! What happens when your center doesn't play up to his potential, when the team loses a couple of games, and all of a sudden he doesn't give a rat's ass? The coach gets fired! What happens when your former center gets injured an undergoes rehabilitation for a career ending disease, the almighty Billy King decides to go after Glenn Robinson, who in return for the Sixers bad play wants Ayers gone! Do you all notice something here, three people running the show behind the team's back?

After all our losses this season, he has the balls to go in front of national television and say what we lack is defense, and that he is looking around. Shouldn't he have done this before the season started?!

    Sad.
