<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Phil Saunders is the only coach in NBA history to lose seven consecutive first-round playoff series. Not a flattering fact, but there's always a Flip side to consider. Saunders has guided the Minnesota Timberwolves to first place in the Midwest Division and one of the league's top three records as the midseason break approaches. "Everyone talks about the first round," Saunders said. "We've got 10 new guys. They don't worry about that. Our goal is to win a championship." The man known by his nickname, Flip, will coach the Western Conference squad next weekend in the All-Star game, and his staff will accompany him to Los Angeles for the showcase event. "I'm real joyous for those guys," said Kevin Garnett, who has shared all of his victories and defeats with Saunders -- a strong candidate for coach of the year.</div> Full Story An interesting article on Flip's history and the system of play he uses, and why sometimes the line-up doesnt remain constitant as we would all like.
I love his coaching stategies, but sometimes I question the rotation. But whatever helps us win is fine with me. Flip is one of the best X's and O's coach in the NBA today, 2nd in my mind behind Larry Brown.
It says Flip maintains the best player will always plays... I am all for that as long he tries to keep some consistency in it... sometimes he will play players for 15-20 minutes on game... and they wont even see the scorers table the next game... what is that supposed to do for the players confidence...
yea, nobody will probly believe this but i am very good friends with Flips daughter. Ive been over the their house and it is amazing. Flip is a great guy on and off the court and i have nothing but praise for him. He's always welcomed us into his house and been more than happy to talk. just my 2 cents on Flip Saunders.

I always enjoy hearing and reading posts that praise people well deserving of it, much over favorites and junk about fights. I myself love the way he coaches, plus he seems to have an attitude, mentality and look that shows respect and kindness at the same time. He's very intelligent and lets everyone get what they deserve. I respect and admire him very much, he's among my favorite coaches along with Jerry Sloan.
