Are you kidding me!? Sure, TMac is perhaps a better scorer than Peja. But we're talking about MVP candidate here! For Tmac to be considered, Orlando would have to go undefeated in the second half! Iverson too. TMac and Iverson are both great players and awesome athlets. They both deserve the scoring title. But not the MVP award.
What the hell is this? No matter how you put it, I don't care where Sacramento finishes, Peja is no MVP, and never will be as long as KG/Duncan are in the league.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting coolhandluke:</div><div class="quote_post">I'll vote KG I totally agree with you</div> you may be one of the idiot fans he was referring to. you listed allen iverson and t-mac. cripes. peja's chance is a lot better than theirs is.

If you do not think that Peja is a legitimate MVP candidate than you are a biased fan and you are making a fool of yourself. This guy has carried this team without their star Chris Webber. Of coarse he has had help but he has been the man in this first half of the season. He has carried this team, something you rarely see from a Swing Man. Will he end up getting the MVP, probably not but he sure is a legitimate candidate.
yeah, Peja deserves MVP consideration... cmon... what would the Kings' record be without him? 20-28? Right now they're 35-13... that's frickin impressive... who would you say the record is due to? Brad Miller? Yeah, he's also an all star but he doesn't score or make big plays like Peja does... and Peja has been unstoppable when it matters most, ask Melo! I would say KG also has a chance, given that he was snubbed last season by TD21... the writers may be symphatethic and give him the award this season.... but he also puts even better numbers than last season's... this is crazy he just keeps on improving but I guess they can be credited to having sam and spree around on the floor during crunch time... who's got the ball when it matters? KG? yeah, sometimes, but mostly the rock'd be in sam's hands... and stay out of the way! Scary good TD21 is also looming as a contender here... he keeps playing better when the spurs start playing better starting on from February.... wacth out Peja, KG!

Peja and Brad deserve it. However, as always, they don't seem to forget taking a shot at the kings. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fishball:</div><div class="quote_post">what would the Kings' record be without (Peja)? 20-28?</div> Heh, it's cool.
Only contenders their are for the MVP Award, are Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. No matter who it is, or how you put it, at the end of the day, you have to agree with that. Peja is playing great ball and deserves some recognition, but he won't be a MVP contender. Not a player in the league is getting in the way of that. It's not worth going into records, and who does what for their team, because it is certainly clear that TD or KG will win the MVP award this season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post"> Peja is playing great ball and deserves some recognition, but he won't be a MVP contender. </div>But the thing is, Peja IS a contender. He has done so much for that team it is ridiculous. Yes, KG or TD will probably get the MVP award, and deservingly so. But to say that Peja is not a contender is absolutely ludicris. I realize you hate the Kings with a passion being a Lakers fan, but come on bro.

At this point Peja is the number one option on a team with the best record in the west. He's getting 25 and 6 (before his 31 tonight) as the number one option on a team with the best record in the West. He doesn't have as good a chance as KG or Duncan true, but to dismiss him like you just did is a bit premature. He hasn't shown signs of doing anything but get stronger, regardless of Webber's return.

Of course he's been the main reason to the Kings success this season, but let's be real here. 25 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists won't cut it. Those are impressive for his size and for his FG%, but not the MVP type numbers that we're looking for.

How do you guys define "contender" for MVP? The way I see it, you're a "contender" if you have a legitimate chance of winning the award. Will Peja get votes? Of course, but there's very, very little chance that he'll get the most votes.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ANiMuS:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh and an MVP should play both ends of the court...guess which one Peja ignores.</div> and AI still won it in 2001? sure AI is a defender, because he intercepts passes and make steals... that's his way of playing defense... and amazingly he got those like 2-3 times per game... does this make him a good defender? not really because once he does that and if he doesn't intercept the ball, he risks leaving his man open and that's not a very good defense but he still won it? why? because he's got his team winning... peja is actually the same type of defender as iverson... he likes to intercept passes... and he does this pretty well, and he defends his man pretty decent, compare him to Dirk Nowitzki playing one-on-one defense and you get the idea...
