if anybody watched nba fastbreak tonight.. they went over about how they should trade iverson away.. yes, they said that, haha. ok, so i don't agree.. i think AI should remain a sixer for the rest of his career.. but.. think about it.. ainge is a nutcase.. making deals left and right.. the sixers want to bring in jim o'brien as their new headcoach.. paul pierce to philly would re-unite him with jim o'brien.. who he had a good relationship with.. who also happens to be a star in the nba and is a few years younger than allen iverson.. and the sixers are rumored to be 'starting over'.. so pierce could be the one they do it with.. i don't know.. that idea popped in my head for some reason.. it could happen. star for star.. and both teams appear to need drastic makeovers.. your thoughts?
are you 100% sure of that? Cause that would be like the trade of the century. But I still think iverson is better than pierce.
Um... not going to happen. They are both franchise players. I would be VERY surprised if such a trade was to be completed. They both seems to be on the same skill level, but as of now, Iverson is much more marketable than Pierce. I doubt the Sixers would trade away Iverson just to please O'Brien if they brought him in. Just not going to work.
No chance of that trade going through. AI is the only thing people in Philli talk about. No Chance... Burn
This is dumb and will never happen. Paul Pierce is not half the player that AI is. And if this trade for some stupid reason did happen, I'd have to walk away from the Sixers for a long time.
This is very strange, not for each other, I'd rather have them play with each other. Danny Ainge sure has no knowledge, he thinks they'd give up. No doubt Pierce is great, but AI definitely has so many edges over him, including a bigger heart, playing injured. They both sure have crappy supporting casts though, I'm glad AI has Dalembert and Snow at least. LOL how about DC for Pierce. Just a joke mind you.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">hes not geting a ring in boston so whats the point</div> AI isn't getting a ring in Philly either!
yeh I no the only thing thats goin for AI this year are some of his stats but even still a lot of his stats are droping
no philly would have to be moronic to do that....Iverson is the heart and soul of their team...it would take them YEARS to rebuild if they lost allen because he's such a special talent...
I would love to see this trade happen from a NBA fan as a whole. What a huge trade. Superstar for superstar, straight up. I like both players. It would be cool to mix in some new blood for each team. If I was a fan of either team though, I probably would not want the trade to happen.

you people do realize it all comes down to billy king and danny ainge right? two complete idiots in the front office. and who said "never"?.. as a gm, it's your job to entertain offers from other teams. nobody is set in stone, franchise players get traded/ leave the team. whether you like it or not, it happens. i do recall shaq leaving the magic, he was their franchise player. i do recall gp leaving the sonics, he was their franchise player. i do recall karl malone leaving the jazz, he was their franchise player. i do recall hakeem olajuwon leaving the rockets, he was their franchise player. i do recall patrick ewing leaving the knicks, he was their franchise player. i do recall alonzo mourning leaving the hornets & heat, he was their franchise player. i do recall antoine walker leaving the celtics, he was their franchise player. i do recall latrell sprewell leaving the warriors, he was their franchise player. kareem abdul jabbar, wilt chamberlain, need i say more? this list is ridiculous & can go on forever. that's how the nba works. it doesn't matter if you're labeled a franchise player or not. it all comes down to business at the end. whether it happens or not, is beyond me, but don't ever question it out as not being a possibility.

You don't understand how much Iverson not only means to the Sixers as a franchise, but for the city as well. Not going to happen, I'd be shocked if AI didn't finish his career off as a 76er. Hard to explain, but AI's heart will always be in Philly as long as he's still playing in the NBA. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">yeh I no the only thing thats goin for AI this year are some of his stats but even still a lot of his stats are droping</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quoting okaforever:</div><div class="quote_post"> learn how to fucking spell you two year old.</div> Chill, if it's readable, then stop complaining.
someone else brought up the whole "franchise" player argument, i did my side of it. i know what iverson means to philly. i didn't say this trade is GOING TO HAPPEN. i said it's a POSSIBILITY, and to NEVER count it out. all those other players meant just as much too, if not more.
and i expect all of you that said something negative about an iverson/pierce deal going through, to immediately hop over into that iverson becoming an atlanta hawk thread asap. thanks.
