I'd take Nirvana, over this whole hip hop revolution!

Are you a Foo Fighter fan also for obvious reasons!

Please say you despise Courtney Love!

I liked Nirvana when I was in jr. highschool. Hip hop overcame my personality and now break beats is slowly taking me over.

I'll throw out some more I listen to...

Boston - awesome classic rock band
Alice Cooper/Marilyn Manson - old school and new school
Overkill - heaviest metal band ever IMO
Dio - did I say I like classic rock?
    Black Sabbath - nuff said
Rammstein - who cares if they don't have an english album?
Pantera - ok, I like it hard and fast

I don't just listen to metal/rock, but it is a favorite no doubt

Yeah Silverchair were young and assholes!

They actually live within a few km's of me.(sorry, about 2 miles)
There from my town of Newcastle!

They have matured since! There music back then was ordinary but they were young so become popular(a little like Kris Kross or whoever they were). But there music like them has matured and I know after disliking them, are a fan. I went to a show back last April and they rocked! Best show I've been too until I see Radiohead this April!

To me they are Rock Gods!

Very political band. Peter Garrett the singer is heavily involved with Greenpeace and reconciliation with our Aboriginal people. I have a ton of respect for him!

They have sort of retired although the music will live on!

    Corny enough for you!

Good to see some of our fair dinkum music making over in yankee land mate!

Hey Karma. What are some good bands in Australia now? I was a fan of Midnight Oil and INXS back in the day. By the way, good taste in music.
    I'd have to go with:
    U2
    Nirvana
    Pearl Jam
    Radiohead
    The Cure
    Jesus and Mary Chain
    REM

    You continue to impress!

Bands now that are doing well in that kind of scene are

    Silverchair still
    Powderfinger (touring the US)
Something For Kate (also heading your way soon)
    John Butler Trio (bluesy)
Jet (you will know of them soon)

I do have Powderfinger's last CD. They're pretty good. Jet is good too. I'll have to check out Something for Kate.
We haven't been getting as many Australian bands here in recent years.
    Thanks for the info.
