<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post">And just for the record I would like to ask, does Tim Legler watch basketball? What a bold statement to make, seeing that he only took 7 shots, Legler came up with a "I'm sure Kobe is full healthy, I don't think he would come back if he wasn't 100%". - from Sportscenter </div> Yeah I also saw that, and couldn't believe what he had said. I don't remember Kobe ever waiting until he is even 90% to come back from an injury. I wouldn't call that a bold statement really, just a dumb one. I too am surprised he only took 7 shots though, it seemed like he was the only one shooting it well from outside.
Props to Yao...he completely outplayed Shaq in the fourth. Oh and someone please tell Slava that just because he has the ball doesn't mean he has to shoot...
Kobe's hesitance to shoot forced Slava to take 12 too many shots. Well, the long road trip is finally over. Hopefully the Lakers can regroup, heal and come back ready to make a run.
You guys might hate me for saying this but....I guess Yao proved tonite that he deserves to be the Western Conference staring center for the All-Star game...I'm not exactly a fan of his, but props to him for outplaying shaq tonight...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Undertakernv:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe's hesitance to shoot forced Slava to take 12 too many shots. </div> I don't recall a single time (maybe once at the most) that Slava was "forced" to shoot because the shot-clock was winding down or whatever.

Slava had to shoot because Kobe didnt.. YUP!
Proud of Yao. Hopefully Yao keeps this mind set, and play like this every game from now on. Shaq is really the only center he should have hard time scoring on. He even did a interview the Jim Grey.

You made that sound like this was the game to determine if you were still a fan or not. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">You guys might hate me for saying this but....I guess Yao proved tonite that he deserves to be the Western Conference staring center for the All-Star game...I'm not exactly a fan of his, but props to him for outplaying shaq tonight...</div> Ain't nobody gonna hate you for speaking the truth. Yao sure did prove tonight that he is well deserving of his starting spot in the Western Conference as Center in the All-Star game. That little 1 hand fade was dominant tonight, and there was nothing Shaq could do about it. Once again, props to the Rockets for their win, but we'll be back.
QUOTE=Purple N Gold]LOL, why would you say Lakers are still your favorite team? You made that sound like this was the game to determine if you were still a fan or not. I'm tired, I thinking straight. Trying to my post average up ya dig, sometimes people don't think. Shiot, damn, that was pretty dumb tho. The 1 time u don't check what u post. Aaaah!!!!!!!!!
good to see that kobe is back on the line up. his shooting last night was pretty good, 4-7, and four 3 pointers in 5 attempts. i don't know why they didn't give him the ball when they needed to come back. they said that he was hitting treys behind the arc at practice. did you guys see shaq asking yao where his parents are then he waved to them before the jump ball? are they close or somethin'? that's just good to see
Whoa this sounded like one heck of a performance, the only recent game I myself saw was the Nets, Pistons. This sounded like one hell of a battle, I would've enjoyed watching it. Kudos to both teams, you tried your best, things might be different next time for anything can happen right? Either way, still, congrtulations, keep up the good work and look forward to your next season where both of you will be even better.
What a disgusting loss for the Lakers. I am very disappointed that this team couldn't finish off their seven game road trip on a good note, and go into the All-Star break with tons of confidence. Let me just say....Yao outplayed Shaq. Yes, you're hearing it from me. Yao outplayed Shaq. Yao just used his assortment of backing Shaq low in the post, using his turnaround jumper and his fadeaway, and also penetrated to the basket and scored. And what does Shaq do in the early stages of the second half? Hit him on his dome? Yao just made Shaq look silly last night, and he's the only one to me that can take on Shaq one on one. There's absolutely nobody else. Very surprising that Kobe just scored 14 pts. I would think he'd be more aggressive on the offensive side. He just passed up so many shot opportunities it was ridiculous. My next guy to criticize today is Slava Medvedenko. Let me just give you his stats last night: SLAVA: 1/13, 3 pts. And if that wasn't embarassing enough, remember that pass from Shaq to Fox, then from Fox to Slava for a wide open baseline shot? He airballed it. MDE, if I were you, I'm completely trash that sig. He's not even worth being recognized on a sig. Now as we head into the break, Lakers are 31-19. Now, this second half will be very key once everybody comes back healthy from their injuries. If Gary and Karl really want the jewelry, they have to play with everything they have to make it happen. Because if this team fails rather than succeeds, it will be a huge disappointment.
That was one of the sickest dunks i have seen over some one, behind the Ricky Davis on Nash and Vince on that tall dude, THe Lakers just fell apart, it happens, Yao outplayed Shaq, Kobe should of shot more...nothing else you can say.
When Slava shoots the ball more than Shaq and Kobe, the Lakers are going to lose every time. Not to mention he only hit 1 out of 13 shots! The Rockets have been the Lakers toughest matchup this season, I'm afraid of what could happen if they end up meeting in the playoffs. Right now, Houston concerns me almost as much as San Antonio, maybe even more. Gotta give Yao his props, he played a great game against Shaq.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ThaLord:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, it was kinda sick... But it wasn't straight on him...</div> Trust me, if Yao got his hand straight up and is in the air, no one can dunk straight on him...
