I'm not sure if this is old news or just an empty rumor, but the Toronto Sun reports that the Raptors are thinking of sending Michael Curry, Morris Peterson, and Michael Bradley to Washington for Christian Laettner and an unnamed player. I read somewhere else that the unnamed player is Brendan Haywood. Another deal has Michael Curry being traded for Othella Harrington in a three-way deal with Atlanta and New York.

If Curry goes for Harrington I'm gonna throw up. What does Harrington have that Moiso and Archibald don't have? Curry has to stay, he is key in the Raptors success.

As a Raptor fan I think we should go with the Washington trade. Bendan Haywood would give us a much needed big man who has potential if given the minutes and Christian Laettner can be good off the bench for some quick 3 point shots.

I just hope we don't go with the Othella Harrington deal because we don't need another below average power-forward-who-can-also-play-center player. I'd rather keep Michael Curry.

experience...Harrington is a more experienced veteran scorer and rebounder with playoff years...moiso and archibald are years away from being consistent contributors on even an average team...i would do the curry-harrington deal in a heartbeat, but the washington deal would be a STEAL for the wizards...

I personally think the WAS trade is a rip..... unless Laettner was replaced by Brown and the unknown player was Haywood..... Brown - Needs to go some where else cuz he's doing horrible in Washington.. Not sure if WAS would do that kind of trade but i would like to see it...

so what? michael curry has more playoff experience then othella. othella is garbage...and hes not even a center which is what we need. michael curry is a locker room leader, a solid defender and hes like a coach on the floor. hes respected by the officials and the players, and he brings everything to the floor that doesnt show up on the stat sheet. if we give him up for othella, itll be a VERY bad move.

id like to see haywood a raptor, but not at the expense of curry bradely AND mo pete. if anything they should try and get rid of lammond murray and bradely. i really want to keep curry and mo pete. i really hope there is no truth to these rumours [IMG] [IMG]

I couldn't have said it better than that. I think people that think this trade benefits the Raptors don't realize Michael Curry's importance on the court and in the dressing room. This guy has quickly become a vocal leader for the Raptors and his worth cannot be measured in size or statistics.

If the Raptors/Knicks trade occur, Knicks would have the better of theis trade. As dj_premium_plus said, Othella is garbage.

I agree with dj_premium & Courtvision. Michael Curry understands what's needed of him and he does his job effectively. He helps the raptors more than Othella ever could, so exchanging the two players would be absolutely ridiculous.

However, I don't think we should rule out the Washington deal just yet. I believe that Haywood can give us that inside presence that we are in dying need of. And in order to gain we must sacrifice, so I'm willing to part with Curry and MoPete if that means solving our interior weaknesses. And with Laettner thrown in with Haywood, we also get a guy who's putting up the same numbers as MoPete (only slightly less points but more rebounds) and who has loads of experience. I understand that Laettner's not the player he once was but I'm kind of fed up with Mr. Morris Inconsistency Peterson. So we have no other choice but to put him in the trading block before we lose him to free agency because I doubt Grunwalds excited about re-signing him. So with the trade, it would sort of be like exchanging MoPete for Laettner and Curry for Haywood (Bradley's just a throw in). MoPete and Laettner are essentially the same so we don't lose anything really. Now with Curry and Haywood, it would make a lot more sense to pick Haywood over Curry for obvious reasons.

It may not be the best possible trade, but I still believe it could benefit the Raptors.

The omly deal here thats good is the Washington 1. Thats if you change it a bit. Giving up Mo-Pete, Curry, and bradley for a olding Laettner, and haywood is giving up way to much. We should try to keep Mo-Pete and Curry if possible. Heres the trades I would do:
Raps Get: Brendon Haywood
Kwame Brown
Wiz Get: Mo-Pete
Lamond Murray
Michael Bradley
The other is Raps get Haywood, and Laettner for Lamond Murray, and Jerome Mosio

The Wizards will never give up Kwame. He's showing glimpses of greatness and I think the Raps would have to give up Vince to get him lol. The Haywood trade would work.

I think this trade will happen right after the all-star game, like Monday, or tuesday. I hope we get haywood if the deal happens. Laettner is OK, hes gettin older, and doesn't have the best stats. I would probably get Haywood, and one of there many point guards they have, so we get help on the 2 positins we need. What do you think????

They better pull that Washington deal, but only if Brandon Haywood is in it, hes the player that I've wanted for 2 years, hes the guy that would fit the Raptors perfectly.

Won't happen on Monday, cos apparently that's a national holiday in the US, so the league office would be closed. That's also why Vin Baker won't clear waivers till Wednesday (I think).

Oh sorry, I forgot about the holiday, your right it probably won't be done till wednesday, that is real close to the deadline, GG better get a trade before the deadline, or the Raps are in some trouble. I agree with thefranchise3, Haywood is perfect for the Raps, he would be a great fit.
