Like a month ago I heard he was coming back to the team on espn but they didnt say if it was as a player or not. I guessed it would be as a assistant coach but if John Thompson believes it will be as a player. Then I tend to believe him. John Tompson keeps in contact with all of the former Hoyas. And he has an excellent feel for all his former players. I hope Zo does return but only if it is in his best Health. I not really sure what Zo can bring as far as on court production. But his fighting spirit around the team will help us thru the Hard times that might come in the 2nd half of the season/playoffs. And like I said in another thread he can always work with our big men to improve their skills.
Well I think he owes that franchise something since his contract does technically have 4 years left...but I think he should relegate himself to a mentor or assistant coach for the Nets rather than try to play again.
If Zo does come back to the Nets. He will come back at the right time, espically when they have an unbeaten interim coach.
If he came back it would be heartwarming its not impossible that one guy has done it before so i would encourage zo as long as he knows he can come back and he is not taking risks

I think he has a decent shot at coming back, and if he does, that'll only help the Nets even more...I respect his passion and desire for the game, but the man has to look out for himself first and foremost...
I think maybe Zo(or so he thinks)needs to come back as a testament to himself that he did all he could regardin' his career....i know it's gotta be mentally tough on a cat to be taken outta the game like that....even though it was for the best I'm sure he gonna have alot of what ifs in his mind if he don't at least try...I can see where he would be comin' from..(course all this is speculation cuz we aint heard a peep outta Zo bout this)
Every time Zo attempts a come back he damages himself....I think Zo should just worry about his health and not risk taking years off of his life in pursuit of a ring. The Nets probably couldn't beat whichever team came out of the west anyway....Unless Zo was the old Zo which he isn't anymore. But if he were in his prime that would be something different

I hope if he does come back....he will be able to stay...just dont rudh anythign and do it at the right time...i also think ZO would make a good coach!
I love 'Zo, shows just how much effort, he really has, it won't be the same though. He should just conserve what he has and contribute to the game in a safer, better means for him. Like Ravenous mentioned, coaching, he'd make one hell of a coach, with his great arsenal of moves and knowledge, he'd be able to make some serious ballers.
If Zo returns to the NBA, it will be in an executive front office or coaching position. I highly doubt he will return to the NBA as a player, there is just too much at stake for him. He would be risking his life everyday on the court. When he was still playing ball and was dealing with the problems, he continuously made statements to the press saying that there are more important things in life than a game and he has to be here to take care of his family and things like that. I really commend him for putting his family before his basketball career, and it's not like he needs the money or anything. You guys need to realize the lifespan of people that received kidney transplants are not very long and your entire body becomes very tempermental and the way it functions completely changes. The fact of the matter if that he will have only ONE good kidney, not two, and this means if he takes one big hit in the post to where his kidneys are, he could die from internal bleeding. There have been rumors that he would return to the Heat as an assistant coach, but again, those are just rumors.
They always have a locker reserved for Zo each and every game. Frank also said that he's welcome to join the Nets in the bench anytime he feels that he's ready. Last that I heard, he's at home resting. Way to go big guy. Just take a rest and let's finish your career with a bang next season or the season after that. Some of you guys are saying that he should just retire. But, you're not Zo. You have to understand Zo's passion for the game. He's a warrior and I'm sure he wouldn't want to be remembered as someone who suddenly retired out of the blue. It's his decision, not ours.
