I'm sad to see Soriano go, but A-Rod in pinstripes is going to be great for the Yankees. If Jason Giambi can get back to All-Star form they'll be tough to outscore. Great trade!
for real...Murderer's Row 2004 anyone? I ain't too big into baseball anymore....but damn Sheffield,Williams,Giambi,Jeter,A-Rod,Matsui and Posada????? That's impressive....
Too Bad that in a couple of years, the Minor Depleated Yankers will be the Texas Rangers all over again.
What a trade. I know that Red Sox fans are all hittin' the drink right now, because they just got beat again by their rivals. The Yanks are not a lock however, they have had the best players in baseball for years now, and still have failed to win it all while these other teams with less talent and more heart have beat them down. What a season we will have though.
Jeter, A-Rod will play 3rd Even though A-Rod is the better defensive shortstop, this is just being done out of respect.
reports are now that the Yanks are gonna sign Maddux this week...... Anyways,I don't see why people complainin'...The Yankees are a baseball team who wants to win so they do everything in their power to always field the best team in MLB. Everyone complain' about the Yankees and their money but ya'll fail to realize that there are alot of rich teams in MLB but they won't let go of the cash to field a winning team...Texas,Boston(**** this cat that owns these guys is a billionaire),Cubs,Marlins,Dodgers,Royals(this cat used to be president of Wal-Mart and he is hella loaded) and countless others....but the problem is that most of these guys approach the game as a buisness rather than a game..alot of teams complain about attendance but yet they won't spend the money to put together a team that fans will come to see. The Yankees see it as a buisness too,but they approach it as a game first and foremost because they wanna win. They spend the money to do so. Peeps say they angry cuz the Yanks sign all these cats, but I think it's jealousy not anger.
As an Astro/Pirates fan, I don't care what the Yankees do. However, I just want to point and laugh at the Red Sox fans. So how long has Chicago been saying ''There's always next season.'' 96 years now, 99?

Baseball is slowly dying. When the Yanks have to bail out other teams because they don't know how to run their franchises, and they have a doofus for a Comish. Kids don't watch the games anymore. And it's getting too damn expensive to go to games. Salaries are WAY out of control. It's a great game. And it's being left for dead.
I'd pay to see some of the all time greats, Like a Clemens in an Astros Jersey, Sosa, Bonds, Schilling or Pedro pitch, the list is short, the Yankees now with the best lineup in the modern era. And the TRIBE!! Cuz this is CLEVELAND!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">Someone asked a good question, what MLB player do you actually pay to see?</div> for me the only one would be Rickey Henderson.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Nasty:</div><div class="quote_post">for me the only one would be Rickey Henderson.</div> Yes, someone please sign this man, give him one more chance, he is a walking legend.
Ricky with the A's was awesome. I still remember him breakin Lou Brock's SB record and just standing up with the base. Sweet! He can still hit, even though he may have lost a step. He's not givin up though, I think he's in the minors!
I've only gone to one game and basically only because I wanted to go to the Vet before they blew it up. I saw the Phillies vs Braves in September. I'm sorta a bball fan but only Phillies. I can't watch any other teams, lol. I was going to go to NY for the Mets vs Phillies but something came up and I couldn't. =/ Oh wells, lol.
There aren't too many players worth paying to see these days. It would be different if everyone wasn't hitting at least 30 homers now. The game is no longer base stealing, hit and runs, clutch hitting, squeeze playes, etc. Its all about a bunch of bulked up guys that probably can't bend over and touch their toes striking out 4 out of 5 times up and hitting a homer the one time they make contact.
