Trade him, everyone says that he is the most dominant player in the game, not the best. Shaq is not the great if you think about it, horrible free-throws, horrible shooter and he missed way too many shots from like two feet away. I say to trade Shaq and take advantage of the players you can get in return. You can get some awesome players for Shaq especially since his contract is so high. Theorectially you could get some and like maybe (don't know money situation) a Ron Artest and someone similar for the amount of money that Shaq gets. Trade Shaq, but wait and let all the offers come to the table, I heard talks about Amare and Marion, J O'Neal and Artest, Dirk and Nash!?, T-Mac and the first pick, just gillions of possible trades for Shaq. I think the best right now would be get T-Mac and the first pick. You can trade T-Mac then for a big guy to replace Shaq or you take Okafor and hope hes and instant success like Lebron and Carmelo. If you don't take Okafor, trade T-Mac for someone that is a good big guy. I'm talking KG, Duncan, Illgauskus, Big Ben, etc. depending on who you would send along.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Over the last few seasons we have seen a decline in Shaq's game due to injuries, the "Zone" defense, and terrible officiating. The Diesel is signed through the 2005-06 season, where he's estimated to make $32.4M. If the Lakers cannot win the title this season should the Lakers consider trading Shaq or should they extend his contract out?</div> trade him and so maybe the lakers can get new players and start playin better... or if u trade shaq then another team could get better from a nobody to a somebody
I wish Shaq really does get traded to Mavs, anything to see him seperate from Kobe, that's all I wanna see.

Kobe has always been a guy I thought was the next Jordan. What seems strange to me is how the Laker fans have turned on Shaq. Did ya'll watch the finals? He was the only guy that showed up. Even in a losing effort he was probably the series MVP. He can't shoot? Didn't he lead the league in shooting percentage? What was he, like 13 for 16 in every game? No, ya'lls problem was Kobe just jacking up stupid shots, totally afraid to go to the hoop. He doesn't care if there are three guys on him. Yes, he did make one, once, to send the game into OT. That was a great shot, unbelievable, but when you put up ten shots from thirty feet away, one is bound to go in. I don't know. I thought Kobe was the real deal. Now I think he's just another Vince Carter. He doesn't make players around him better. Good luck winning another championship without Shaq. Oh, by the way, Garnett, Duncan, Dirk, Ben Wallace, forget it, no team will trade one of those guys for Shaq since he's demanding a trade.
Im very glade shaq is gone. Now its kobe team, and he will run it, and no one wont be crying on the lakers team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting LakerSource:</div><div class="quote_post">Im very glade shaq is gone. Shaq was the guy. Kobe is the guy now. Well see if he can lead them to some championships. I guarantee you he wont lead them to 2 consecutive. He will probably get one a few years down the road but he wont lead them to back to back ones.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KareemTheRush:</div><div class="quote_post">i say kobe wins more rings than shaq because shaq wont win anymore</div> I believe Shaq will win another before he ritires. Kobe will definetly because he is young. You got to remember Shaq came on a team with a 21-61 record and took them to the Finals in his 3rd year. Kobe was born on a Shaq team while riding his cotton tails.
Shaq asked way to much money and for what not play 30 games each season, and cry about his big toe? All he does is cry and complain. We dont need that.
i still think losing shaq was a big blow to the lakers.. but IMO this is wat the lakers need, now with shaq gone all of them are gonna stop depending on shaq and start making some real effort in the game. plus with the way odom's playing right now i can still see them making the playoffs
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KareemTheRush:</div><div class="quote_post">i say kobe wins more rings than shaq because shaq wont win anymore</div>and you base this on absolutely nothing.
