NBA Scouts In New Zealand

NBA scouts have been in auckland looking at a player named poutu edwards a 6'9" kid with mad skill
i have a video of him from last years NBL final when he scored 54 points

he averages 30.3 ppg and 11 rpg
mad game,
he might be a surprise in the up coming draft

 

I watched that NBL final, it was the St. Laurence Saints vs the Waikato Titans and there was no Poutu Edwards at all in either team, the only info I could get on him was from this site here http://www.kiwihoops.co.nz/juniors.htm . This says he's in the under 16 boys which means he's got no chance in the upcoming draft. What league does he average 30 and 11? I live in New Zealand, so if there was a guy here who had a shot at the NBA I would've heard about him. I'm starting to think you or your friend/family is Poutu Edwards, Scribe? Nice username by the way.

 

I'm from Australia, and I'm sure there would have been word of him around here, especially with a New Zealand based team in our league now.

Please tell us some more about this player. What level is he playing? Already a pro? What makes a 16 yrs old so interesting for NBA scouts?

 

I've never heard of him. Its not even possible for a 16 year old to be drafted is it? I dont think so. Im going to search for some information on the age restrictions to be drafted to the NBA, but im pretty sure 16 is to young.

There's a 12 yrs old kid playing on New Zealands u14 national team. Reportedly he's one of their best players. His name is Storme Edwards. Is there any relationship between this guy and Poutu Edwards?

well first of all its a schools webpage, and that little picture is probably just some project that he made or something. Obviously its not meant to look real.

 

The Poutu Edawrds guy exists, he's in a New Zealand under 16 team. But he didn't play in the NBL final at all and doesn't average 30 and 11. Nothing to get to excited over, the first post was probably a friend of his or himself hyping him thinking that no one would know any different.
