He takes seasoned veterans whose careers have been re-energized due to KG's work ethic and desire. If KG is a slumper who shows up late to practices and doesn't play hard, do you think that the T-Wolves have the 3rd best record in the league? Cassell's number's have improved to the best he's had in years. They had a "Big 3" in Milwaukee too, do you remember this much attention for them. This team gains fans while it travels....and wins. The MVP makes his team better, and KG does that for the Wolves. Moreso, than any other player in the league IMO. Also, have you looked at the productivity when he's not in the game.....needless to say....he gets short breaks. LOOK AT THE D [IMG] MN NUMBERS. Even opposing coaches love him.

What arguement is this? KG is regarded as the MVP or close to MVP status in 98% of JBB. I don't see who is bad mouthing this guy at all.

    You sure about that?

You are acting like people hate on Garnett when clearly that isn't the case.

This is to open the eyes of the "Peja can hit jumps shots. If he wasn't with the Kings, they'd only win 17 out of 20 games" or "Duncan is rounding to his MVP form, look out Wolves fans". This argument makes it CRYSTAL CLEAR about the MVP...... [IMG] Sorry for the minor explosion. I just get offended when there is something so clear and concise and people want to argue that. There is NO argument. Even team biased fans should agree. Apolygies again guys. (I'm taking a deep breath)

I don't think what you said makes everything so crystal clear to me. State the facts, just don't say LOOK, show us. I don't think the MVP race is so clear cut to choose KG IMO (although I would give it to him). Its only halfway into the season right now, people should really stay clear of this topic until the end....anything can happen

    Number three.

Three other candidates. They're quite comparable to KG, which isn't easy for any player to accomplish. I bet you know these three, but do you know which is which?

Not to take anything away from KG, but he always wins at the halfway point, but, similar to the Wolves' playoff curse, he never seems to win the MVP award. Whether he gets it this year or not is still up in the air for this season, but I do feel confident he'll get it in the future.

Its not a one horse race for the MVP as some would think.

This is the first season in which KG has actually had some help. The Wolves now not only have a top five PG in Cassell and a great swingman in Sprewell, but the productive veteran role players they've needed like Hoiberg and big Ollie Miller in addition to Trent, Johnson, and Hudson. This team will make it out of the first round this year, in my opinion, they'll make it all the way to the western conference finals..at least. Tim Duncan is a GREAT player, don't get me wrong. But KG is the best player in the league, and probably the best on the face of the earth right now. He's nine years in and 27 years old! He's just beginning to hit his prime right now, he's going to rule the NBA for the next 6-8 years. As for the MVP race, there's only 30 games left and KG is the winner hands-down IMO. Things may change down the stretch, but I don't see it happening.

Maybe Elton Brand will win MVP, lol.

But big props to Kevin Garnett, though. He's got help, yet his numbers are up.

All in all, the season is nowhere near over, so let's take a sip of.....whatever it is that you guys sip.....and enjoy the All-Star game. What's the call?
    I'll say: East 109 West 106 MVP.....Tracy McGrady.....But if he can't play due to back injury...Jermaine O'Neal.

thats a big argument right there. people say "They are doing so good because of sprewell and cassel" thats partially true, but if it was 100% true then KG would "only" average 20 10 6 *assists would probably go up because hed be dishing the ball to cassell and latrell constantly*

KG is the MVP, hes the obvious and only choice.

Whoa....the east is gonna win? Even though this goes waaaay off topic I'm gonna speak on this.

    West 140 East 120.

If Artest goes through with his threat of playing defence....

    West 120 East 119

I call the West winning by at least 5.

And looking at your username, I'd expect nothing less from you. Part of his numbers being up is attributed to having three major scorers to either dish or draw attention from him. They're suddenly a higher scoring team. (not against Utah, though, lol)

Exactly, it makes what he's doing this year even more impressive.

...Elton the MVP. lol. Yeah, even I know that's laughable! But apparently he could put Garnett type numbers and as long as he's still on the Clippers not even get a single vote.

Okay even if some people do hate Garnett they can never denie his great ability to play baskeball. He's one of the best ever and no one can possibly say he isn't unless they don't know basketball. And by the way who could possibly hate the Timberwolves? They are a young team that plays great together. They definatly aren't the team picked to win every game and they don't care. Who would hate the Timberwolves? or much less Kevin Garnett????

Nobody is hating on KG. He is playing the best ball right now, so I don't understand why the original post in this thread was created.
