Does anyone realize how far we are from the 8th seed right now? Lets put it this way. The Warriors record is 23-28. The 8th seed right now if the playoffs were to start today would be Denver. Their record is 31-23. For the Warriors to even get to .500 they would have to have a record of 18-13 over the rest of the season. That is possible, but to catch up to someone that has 7 or 8 wins OVER .500, and surpass them? I think we should give up on our hopes, and trade NVE and Damp for someone with a big expiring contract like Laettner or Rasheed. This year is not like last year. Last year we were one or 1 game or 2 games away from the 8th seed. We are like 8 games out. That is too much of a hole to dig ourselves out of. I hate thinking negatively, but can you really see us playing betterthan Sacramento rest of the season? Denver is on pace for over 50 wins this season. For us to get only 50 wins, we would have to have a record of 27-4. [IMG] That would probably be the best 2nd half record in NBA history. [IMG]

Let's just enjoy the Warriors as they continue to play hard and fight hard and try to overcome their road woes. Think back to the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 years. It was very hard to be a fan then. At least now they are competitive and have overcome some major obstacles this year to regain the foundation that Musselman laid last year. Playoffs? Sure would be nice, but that's just icing on the cake.

The only reason why I did not say tank the rest of the season is because I think improving upon their record of last year is important. I would like to see at least 40 wins from them this season. And who knows maybe those teams that are in it will lose a string of games and we will win a string of games and be back in the thick of it.

We are roughly at the same place we were last year, only the Western conference has improved records! Hell even Utah could still be in it without Malone and Stockton! I think its all thanks to their coach and the young, talented players dedication to him.

Anything could happen and I don't think we should give up on them yet. I love how philsmith put it, its just icing on the cake. Us Warrior fans have been patient for many years, we are finally starting to see results. If we don't make the playoffs next year, something drastic needs to be changed.

Something drastic needs to be done? I don't know about that. As bad as the Warriors are...they are not that bad at all. Sure Warriors may be getting a little impatient but I think Golden state is headed for greener pastures in the next few years.

They have a solid centre in Dampier
Troy Murphy has been injured but he can play no doubt about that
    Dunleavy is a potential allstar
Potential all star in Richardson as well
Claxton is solid at the point

the bench consists of Foyle and cheaney.

A free agent acquisition for a solid role player would be good for this squad next year. They got rid of jamisons contract to make a run at Yao so they have cap space.

As bad as their record is, they have a bright future

Well most analysts figure the warriors would be even worse than we are now. Look at the poor Phoenix suns! They are devastated. Bo Outlaw really could have helped him in the size and rebounding department.

Hey if we do make the playoffs, expect to see a Disney movie about it starring Kurt Russell as Eric Musselman in the near future.

Holy cow!! Why do you Warriors get so many new quality posters? First Custodian, then philsmith, and now WarriorsFanNC? C'mon. Check out the Rockets' forum guys.

Asking Warriors to come to the Rockets forum really isn't the smartest thing, lol. I have only seen 2 games from them this year. One when Carmelo had 37 against them, and when Shaq got owned by Yao.

I'm a Rockets fan but I still post regularly in the Rockets. Why can't they do the reverse? [IMG]

Hehe. It's cool man I like Yao, Steve Nash, Tim Duncan and I like a lot of the Texas teams so I'll pop in there every now and then. It's probably because philsmith75, Warriorfansnc93, and others like myself are big basketball fans that just happen to root for the underdog warriors who've had a lot of terrible luck this year and a troubled past.

It all started when I recruited custodianrules from the ESPN boards. It took off from there. These guys know their basketball, more importantly, their Warriors basketball.[IMG]

You guys (NUGGETS FANS) are so lucky Detroit didn't pick 'Melo huh? I mean your bench is good as far as money goes and you got fan favorites like the Big E and Birdman, but Melo is a proven guy that can lead a team in college whereas Darko is just a seven foot project. I hope as a nuggets fan the last couple years you could relate to the Warriors pretty much yes?

Hah, yeah, but what sucks is, once the Nuggets started doing awesome, they considered me a bandwagon fan, and saying crap like ''You only like Denver because they have Carmelo.'' Whatever, can't wait to be called a bandwagoner once the Warriors start doing good. =)

Rudeezy you're so lucky. No one ever posts in the Rockets forum now. Seems like people aren't interested in Yao anymore. What a shame.

But remember, when I first got here I was the only Warrior's fan here. Suns_fan was running this forum but there was no activity whatsoever. With the help of others, we have made this into a respectable forum. Don't give up man, there are plenty of Rocket fans out there.[IMG]

Plus, it's hard for me to talk Rockets ball, when I really don't like the Rockets.
