I got to go with Terry Porter....Nobody expected the Bucks to do anything this year....and they came out suprising everyone....looks like they were coached well to me!
I'm going to throw Flip out there he's done an awsome job with the T-wolves this year, but he does have a great team to work with.
I would also have to say Flip because he had to mix in all the personnalities of Sam,Kg and Spree to make them play well together.I just think he's a great coach. But another candidate is Jerry Sloan,he did a great job with the Jazz.
I'd say Terry Porter. He has been doing a fantastic job this season. How about Jerry Sloan or Jeff Bzdelik?
I'd say Sloan, I might be biased b/c I'm a Jazz fan, but this team was predicted by some to break the 9-73 record. And they have stayed around .500 all season, if they was in the East, without a dominate star. Also, I think the NBA should give it to him for snubbing him all of these years, to think a coach with 900 wins and no COY to his credit, and to think the Jazz won over 60 games in some of them seasons.
I think Jerry Sloan is loooooong overdue...he's done an incredible job with that Utah team...Porter is also a very deserving talent, but he has more to work with in Redd and Thomas than Sloan does...
Sloan and Bzdelik for me. Sloan just seems to have that "real" coach feel to him. He'd stick with his team and make them something no matter what. That is just such an admirable and rare trait in leadership. He shows and is, exactly that. As for Bzdelik, the fact that he was able to create such chemistry and such a pure team out of great "individuals" is just amazing. He made a team.
Hubie Brown gets my vote, The grizzlies have never really came close to .500, and this year they have more wins than any other year, and theyve done it before the all star break!, Hubie definatley gets my vote, I hope a coach of a western conference power doesnt win this, I want a surpirse team coach to win it.
It's definately Flip, as some people said he has had many personalities to put together into a team. And also there is the fact that he has done a great job coaching the Timberwolves for 9 seasons. I think he has been overlooked as a coach just because of their rough playoff record. He should be the coach of the year.
