what the hells up with that, the nfl keeps killin itself, i hate this new 5 second delay their doin for MNF. it takes away excitment from the game, it sucks. thoughts?
This is the stupidest thing I've heard. I believe Disney still owns ABC which would explain the "sanitizing" of a live broadcast. Its getting really scary when corporations (or Govt) decides whats best for us. I could possibly understand the halftime entertainment being being "monitored" but still this is not right. To paraphrase Peggy Bundy, "Be sure to thank Janet & Justin's 'Wardrobe malfunction', kids."
What difference does five seconds make if you're watching at home? I think it's lame, but I'm guessing if I didn't read about it, I'd never even notice.
I suppose that the only difference would be that if you chose to listen on the radio VS listening to the television audio. Hell, there is a 1 ? to 2 second delay between the TV in my bedroom and the one in the living room (one is regular cable and the other is digital). Besides that, the audio between TV and radio is frequently offset anyway. The five second delay is to help filter out the ?F?-Bombs, etc. that have come up more frequently with the new audio receiving technologies, and the placement of these (and the cameras) closer to the action.
well... i dont like it either because i dont like having someone say something and in the middle of a sentence i hear a bleep... half the time you probably wouldnt hear it
"I like the idea, but i voted against" - John Kerry "The 5 second delay is not a forgery" - Dan Rather seriously it is not big deal.

How does it take away from the exitement of the game? Aside from free-speech advocates, I think it takes nothing away from the game. I don't see where you will see a difference. I haven't noticed Al Michaels dropping a lot of F bombs lately.
yea really i would have never noticed it if i havent seen it here, who cares, so they bleep out a few curses, it doesnt take anything away from the game
