Since Chicago's officially bought out Jay Williams' contract why doesn't Toronto sign him? We could definately use a point guard like him, and he still has a lot of potential. The only problem is do we have the cap space? Are there any other legalities involved? What do you guys think.... PS I guess some teams might not want to take the chance because of his knees...
he has a lot of potenital still in him but i don't think that the raptors or any team for that matter will take a chance at him because he still has to prove that he can play ball like he used to before the accident
why sign a player that isnt ready to play? no need to take up cap space when we need help right away. if he does play it wont be till next year, so we have the off-season to look at another pg
I would wait until he recovers and is able to play. Its not like he was released for disciplinary reasons, this guy had a serious car accident.

Anyway, it might be too much of a risk to sign him.He might not be able to play ever again.Let him recover then the team should try signing him but he might not be as good as before.The Raps should try to sign a good pg in the off-season.

If he really gets back to the form in his Duke days, I think the Raps could put him on their Summer League roster and test him out. Never sign a player who might never play again. Look at Eddie Griffin with the Nets.
