<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Josh Howard knows about pressure situations.

Being drafted 29th? That's not pressure.

Having to answer question No. 29 on the SAT? Now that's pressure.

Long before the lanky, 6-7 rookie arrived in Dallas with all his athletic gifts, Howard spent a year at Hargrave Academy, a military school in Virginia, before he could gain admittance to Wake Forest.

That college-entrance exam known as the SAT had altered the course of his life.

"I was pretty bright," Howard says. "I was great at schoolwork. But that test, if you take it one time and don't pass it, it'll mess you up. Some people can bounce back, some people can't." </div>

Awwww he's a smartie. I think before the season is over he will be considered the steal of the draft.

He's a great fit in Dallas-another athletic, long player who can score and is also doing very well on defense...Dallas did a great job by finding a contributing player so late in the draft...

He already is a steal. However, from what I've seen of the Mavs' summer league campaign last August, Marquis Daniels might fit the Mavs better than Howard.

She was one before you came methinks. Anyways, Howard is possibly one of my favorites from the draft. He really steps up and seems to rub off some of this athleticism and defense to the rest of the Mavericks. That's always a good thing since they lack so much of it.
