Oh man I'm getting pumped! I think you can vote on the nba.com website too at the bottom right hand corner.

Smart move by Jrich. Fred Jones got a 50 so Jrich just needed to do something he knew he could make to qualify for the next round.

wow, worst dunk competition ever. jrich had the best dunk of the night and lost. and jones' two 50s were just because of long reach? damn, how disappointing....last years was so much better. then when interviewing fred jones lebron gets mentioned? wth? layoff of lebron for god's sake...all we hear about is lebron and melo. they're talking to fred jones and ask "how exciting will it be for you to go up against the likes of lebron james?" what an insult to fred jones.

    boring.

J-Rich lost it for himself. he could have made an easy dunk and still won, but he had to try something hard, and he missed.

Yeah, Jrich should have done a windmill. He probably jacked up because he got his legs all tired earlier with all those attempts.

He would have been the greatest dunker of all time if he did that off the backboard, 360, between the legs dunk. Still pretty weak. What's even more weak was that Desmond Mason wasn't even invited to Dunk was he? Desmond Mason, Jrich, and Vince Carter are probably the best shooting guard dunkers.

Speaking of which, they should extend the dunk contest to positions only, the reason is because everyone roots for the little guy to win anyway. The little guy cannot do the things Jrich can because of his extra reach.

i think he wanted to give the crowd something because practically everything was disappointing. i really don't think he cared if he won or not. that's the point of the contest right? the only people that attempted under the leg stuff were ricky davis (trying to be jrich) and jrich. everything else was just slam it hard wow.

Oh well Jrich got some cash, people know he is still awesome, and maybe he can move on with his career and not be just known for being a slam dunk champion. I mean Tmac was a awesome dunker, but he's got an all around game now. Of course that would be the ultimate dream that Jrich can be even in the same boat as Tmac.

Fred Jones was amazing and had some really tite dunks...J-Rich had the best dunk of the night with his off the side of the backboard, thru-the-legs...But Jones was just as deserving of the trophy, even tho both mad bad decisions for not going safe in the final round...but major props to both for wanting to entertain the fans first before worrying about winning...Anderson was jipped in the first round (42???) and Davis had some really nice acrobatics but has to work on finishing...solid contest, altho Jones and Richardson were clearly on top of their game tonight...

But doesn't anyone agree that you can't compare dunks of the players unless they have similar frames? a Stevie Franchise Dunk can't beat a Michael Jordan dunk unless you put them in separate classes.

They probably missed because they couldn't get a consistent jump. Doing what they do is so hard because you have to jump just right and throw it down fast and hard without letting your grip slip off the ball. But the main thing is the jump. Jrich got tired. But yeah I'm glad he tried to do something creative rather than just do something too easy for him. I still hate wins by defaults. Jrich should have won it alone with that off the backboard, between the legs dunk. That's a video game dunk right there.

I guess this dunk contest partly spelled out the warriors season. Beating opponents early on and then failing to close out. All Jrich had to do was do a fancy windmill which has a very high chance of going in to win the 3rd title, but I guess he had to try and impress everybody like he had promised early. Can't criticize and an artist for trying to be unique and creative. At least the dunk contest doesn't count for anything but to promote individual players and attract new fans at the midway mark. Michael Jordan and Dominque Wilkins would be slam dunk nobodies if they didn't take their team to the top. Now Jrich has to take his team to the top. Avoid being known for something that's trivial.

Too bad J-Rich lost. I didn't get to see but I'm glad he went for the spectacular dunk at the end instead of just throwing up a weak one just to win the competition. Its all about the fans.

Yeah the dunk contest doesn't mean jack feces. I think Jrich is a man of his word for trying to impress the fans and probably wants to move toward the allstar status rather than "rising star". He wants league respect and nba fans to be cheering for him.

I just saw ESPN's Top 10 plays of the day. They had J-Rich at number 3 with that crazy dunk off the backboard and between the legs. Than they had Fred Jone's dunk number 1 and it wasn't anything special. Lame.

J-Rich dunk was No.4, I was like what, it should've been the other way around. Ricky had a pretty good 280 windmill. Can't believe he missed that reverse between the legs. He did that in 2000. J-Rich should've done the 360 windmill off the oop. Still difficult, but he would have made that. He skipped levels, and should've have done the 360 inbetween the legs off his two feet. It's been done, only a select few seen it, but never been exposed to a large audience.

yeah, i wasn't really impressed with fred jones' dunks, but it showed he had hops, which is good enough. jrich wasn't necessarily jipped, since he kept missing on that one dunk. imagine if he made that dunk.

Wow, that first dunk by Fred Jones was WEAK and he got a 50? What is up with that? I still have not seen JRich's 2nd dunk.
