Moiso is only playing because he is being showcased... that is why u dont see Baxter getting much minutes. Moiso's days are numbered.... GG doesn't plan to keep him... he will probably do a trade for Theo Ratliff which definately helps the raptors out a lot more than Moiso/Baxter/Archibald put together
The best move Grunwald should make is stepping down as GM of the Raptors. He has an eye for talent for the SF/SG position, but he can't seem to find talent in any of the other positions on the court. Chris Bosh looks like a nice pick, but drafting Bosh was a no-brainer for the Raptors after LeBron, Melo, & Darko were selected.

Thats not the only move he made. He got Baxter too who is doing a lot more than Jefferies did here. I can't agree with that. Glen Grunwald has made some solid moves to bring in quality players to Toronto. I am pretty pleased with his performance and I would not want anyone else at the GM position than him. He has brought in a good team that is not performing and that is not his fault because the players play the game, not the GM. He makes the right moves for the franchise while staying within the cap. Sure he doesn't have a solid point guard yet, but him stepping down or being fired would be a bad thing for the Raptors.
"I wish Grunwald would get cracking on this immediate need, and do it quick before Moiso runs out of magic and for Bosh to get some immediate help." How do you know he isnt working on it? Think before you say something the raptors have the sixth playoff seed and would you want to put your team at such a risk when they are still working hard and staying around 6-7 seed? What do you expect him to do? Who would he trade for what?

Yes you could argue hes made a good move this season, but thats about it, when you think of it long term, realistically Glen hasn't been doing a very good job. The only other recognizable deals hes done is the Jonathan Bender for Antonio Davis trade, and the Antawn Jamison for Vince Carter deal. I think its time for a change.
Donyell Marshall is a small forward. He's only playing the power forward position because he's in the East, but his natural position is SF. Any GM has to take some responsibility for his team not responding. A GM not only needs to find the physical talent, but also needs to build the right team chemisty. Team talent wins games, not individual talent.

You'd rather stay put? Look at New York, if they hadnt hired Isiah Thomas, they'd still only have Deke and Houston. Sometimes u gotta shake it up. Who'd honestly believe the Suns were willing to give up Marbury and Hardaway for practically nothing. Hey, Isiah got that deal didnt he, now look at New York, one of the best teams now, and u would have never figured he'd pull a trade like that. You would've said the same thing when they just hired Isiah. Im sure Glen will get a trade before the deadline tho.

The team was not responding at the beginning of the season and GG made one of the biggest move in 03-04 by attaining Rose and stealing Marshall. A GM does have to take responsibility at one point for his team not responding but you can't say he wasn't reactive when change was needed. Just look at the East and you'll see why the Raptors have a losing record. 4 out of the 8 playoff teams have losing records. Is this due to a lack of size? Who knows, the Raptors have the 6th spot if I'm not mistaken and it is still a quantum leap from last years debacle (I know there were injuries but we still had an awful record). How exactly can you build chemistry when you bring in two new starters and a bench player to the lineup without a training camp to build that aforementioned team chemistry? You need time and patience. You can't push the panic button and start calling for heads to roll. I really think people are just looking at the Raptors on this skid and saying, "There they go again....when are we gonna make a move and try to improve this team?". Raptors fans can't panic because we will get out of this slump, they just have to have patience for things to improve. Add in the fact that one of the reasons for the slump is Chris Bosh and Curry being injured. I'm sorry but sometimes (if not all times) fans can be very fickle. When we are winning everything is great and we are the best, but if we start losing people really start to panic. Example: When we were on a 6 game winning streak most (if not all) people were screaming for GG to get an extension. Now we are losing games and people are starting to be paranoid thinking the team needs a change in the front office and in the Roster. GG has done an amazing job with his resources, has been responsive to his team and I would not want anyone else to be the GM for the Raptors because I find him smart with his decisions factoring in the cap situation and players talent level. His track record speaks for itself: Trades Damon Stoudamire for Alvin williams (with the good quality of Weed in Canada, it wouldn't be a good situation anyways) Jonathan Bender for Antonio Davis Antawn Jamison for Vince Carter and cash Drafts Mo pete with the 21st pick in the draft The years after were a wash...okay I admit that at least Picks Chris Bosh with the 4th pick (while others were touting Wade and Ford to be drafted that high) Signs Moiso who is finally living up to the potential from last years playoffs Trades Lindsay Hunter for Michael Curry (who I think is a steal with his knowledge and defensive approach to the game) Trades a whiney Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams and Chris Jefferies for Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall (who is the steal of the year) and Lonny Baxter Picks up Robert Archibald (Who I think is a tough solid player) These are solid transactions if you ask me.

The Raptors are a 500 team at best with our recent aquisitions, and I still say that we are one healthy big man away from getting past the first round this year. I have no doubt in my mind that we can take out Detroit in the first round providing that we find that big man, and I know that Glen is working at this. The next 4 game road trip should bring the fans back together, cuz we should in all likelihood win the next 4 in a row (Golden State, Phoenix, Seattle and Chicago). Anybody that wasn't on the bandwagon will definitely join after this road trip, cuz the Raps will win the next 4 in a row. By the way raps fans, I have something interesting to say. At the beginning of the season, I had made a bet with a friend that the Raps would end with a better record than the Knicks at the end of the regular season. After the Isiah Thomas move that brough Marbury and Penny to the Knicks I may have lost the bet. What do you realistic Raps fans think? Do you think I can still win this bet. The knicks have been amazing lately unfortunately. Please remember that this is a raps post, but since they are barely behind us in the standings now, they do relate with the Raptors.
hmm...i dunno how much of a sf donyell really is. physically, hes a pf, hes got the size and build, and he seems to be most effective down low. perimiter defense is the one part of his game thats really weak. i think donyell is most effectively used at the 4, because of his strong work on the glass, and his ability to draw other big men out of the paint because of his perimiter game. either way, i still like GG, hes been a good gm for the raptors. kevin o'neill was a good descision that seems to get forgotten. although people hate on vince, hes still the best thing to ever happen to the raptors, because without him, the raps wouldnt have became as popular as they were, and basketball in toronto might not have flied as well as it has. not to mention GG put together the team that went deep into the playoffs a few years back, and winning is another thing that helps generated interest and fans. although in retrospect, the huge contracts he gave to JYD, AD and alvin were a little steep, those contracts are what got vince to ink a long term deal with us, which like i said i think is THE best thing to happen to the raptors. in the end, those deals gave us donyell and jalen, so i like GG. hes not done, hes gonna make a push for a big man sometime before the deadline, so well see what happens

You're saying at that time that McGrady was the better fit for Toronto. Everyone wanted a piece of Vince at that time and everyone else knew that McGrady played Pippen to Vince's Jordan. What was Toronto to do? Trade Vince and keep McGrady, hell no. McGrady wanted out of Toronto because he wasn't the star player and would be overshadowed by Carter. Yo, if Grant Hill didn't get injured, McGrady would have also played second fiddle to him. McGrady got lucky with Grant Hill being injured and had to take over that team, so that he could display his talent. Shouldn't the worst record in the NBA at this time prove something about McGrady? They're still playing like crap after firing one of the best coaches in Doc Rivers. McGrady is still the best individual-don't care about winning only about looking good player today. Whatever you say man, all I know is that Carter rocks and McGrady talks
Oh, let me add to that.. Tracy had always been buried on the bench by Butch Carter well before Vince arrived.. if anything Vince had lit a spark in McGrady to perform better being family and all. If Carter did not get to Toronto, McGrady would be nowhere to be found, probably dealt off with several other role players at extra for other teams

WIth the record Orlando has, you'd say he's a better fit? He has Howard and Drew Gooden with him too, and they still cant perform. Carter would do much better with Orlando's team than McGrady would. Stuffing up ur scoring stats doesnt make u win, which is evident with both Iverson and T-Mac. Carter is in the top 10 in scoring AND his team is in the playoffs.

McGrady was drafted as a high school player in to the NBA.... Carter only came in a year after McGrady.... You guys might be right where McGrady might of left toronto to go to orlando.... but you never know what might happen.
