The Raps better not get Othella Harrington, he sucks. he can't do anything. Haywood is a good deal, but I heard GG is tryin to get Erick Dampier!!!!That would he awesome, hes one of the best rebounders in the league. He also can score too. The other people the toronto sun says the Raps are looking at are Jerome James, Ostertag, and Mutombo. Heres the link:

I dont mind having Jerome James. I hate Ostertag with all my guts and Mutombo is going to retire soon. Eric Dampier is too much, maybe when he's a free agent.

P.S- Get Haywood GG!! And if you can...add Gilbert Arenas...lol

Yah right, Dampier's in the mix now? If we have a legitimate chance of acquiring him then we should go for it ASAP. He'll fit in perfectly with our team.

Jerome James can help but I'd rather have Dampier or Haywood. We could get James only if we don't have to give up too much.

As for Ostertag and Mutombo, they shouldn't even be considered. They're both WAY overpaid and getting old. The last thing we need is another Olajuwon bust to deal with. GG should be fired if we get any of those two guys.

Grunwald doesn't pull off a single trade before deadline.

Wow....i am really in shock right now. No Vince, no Bosh, no Jalen and GG STILL does not pull off any type of trade to attempt to make our roster better. Ugh...i am personally disgusted and honestly i hate to admit it, but our playoff chances are looking really bad right now.....as in NO PLAYOFFS for the Raps. Shoot...even a loaded team like the Pistons was able to pull off a mighty fine trade for Rasheed Wallace, what a team they have now.
So, what will the Raptors do now? How will they cope without 3 key players on the team? Will anyone even have the guts to step up and help this franchise get over their horrible injury-filled season last year and make it through to the playoffs? Only time will tell.....

How will they cope? The answer is, they won't. I really believe the Raptors are out of the playoff race.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting RipHamFam:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm glad no trading occurred because I wouldn't want any rush trades to happen that could hurt us in the long run. Keep your head up rap fans. With Montross and Olajuwon's salaries coming off the books and contracts expiring (MoPete, Bradley, Curry and Palacio) at the end of this season, we're bound to get some great talent in the off-season to solve our problems.

Even if we did make a trade I doubt we'd be a contending playoff team. Face it, we don't have any great talent on the trading block so we shouldn't have expected anything great in return. Good decision on GG's part to play it safe. </div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting thefranchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">Good post, finally someone thinks outside the box. With those contracts expiring, we will likely get a solid pickup in the off season. I don't blame Glen this time, and no one should. Once the Raptors get healthy, a 41-41 final record will get us into the playoffs, and what seems to be around the 6th spot in the east. We've got a fairly solid lineup (when healthy), but we all know that we aren't contenders, we've got to be patient and see what happens in the future. Besides, acquiring a mediocre player now won't do much for the Raptors, hopefully we can expect a solid player in the off season.</div>

Heres a post in the thread "Deal with Sonics?" One from RipHamFan who I feel made an intelligent statement, and my reply is below. This is related so I posted it here, and I think for all you people who thought a deal should have happened, heres a little segment of the benefits that come along with GG not making a trade.

welll...i know i'm not the only one who thought that GG would've pulled a trade out before deadline that's for sure + just look at last off-season....we hardly got anything (besides Bosh) and basically all of our key players remained on the Raps...for some reason i feel that the same may happen again this coming off-seasons and a lot of people's expectations for building up this team will be shattered

Montross and Hakeems contracts will be gone, plus maybe Mo Petes, Bradley, Curry, and Palacio. That leaves them more money to sign a solid free agent. Glen has said numorus times that the reason nothing huge has happened is mainly because of cap space. Be patient, and make sure you read my whole post, it would have answered your post.

thefranchise3, thanks for the compliment & thanks for putting up my post from the other thread. You just saved me some time because I was about to write the exact same thing here.

Anyways, I can't blame most ppl who desperately wanted a trade to happen before the deadline. I too was caught up in the moment and wanted something to be done ASAP. And I didn't want to wait till next season for changes to occur. But when you think about, it makes a lot more sense to do absolutely nothing until the off-season. Patience ppl, things are looking bright in the future (but I wouldn't set my hopes up TOO high either).

Lets see isn't GG at the end of his contract after the season? So i doubt that he may be returning.... and for the Raptors.... i have to say good luck

Maybe this is the time to play some guys from the bench like Moiso/Mason Jr. and give them some more minutes

Thats a very negative statement. Didn't you know that Philadelphia and Miami are 23-32, and they share the 7th and 8th spots? Thats 9 games under .500 and they can potentially make the playoffs. Right now the Raptors are 25-28, only 3 games under .500. I know the injuries may make you think that they wont make the playoffs, but Bosh is only listed day-to-day, and Vince will be out for a period of 2-3 weeks. Lets say Vince sits out around 11 games, he could potentially be back for the final remaining 18 games, which is a significant amount of games to play still. His absence will put us in a whole, but I doubt it will kick us that far down to out of the playoff picture, realistically the Raptors aren't going to lose every single game hes out.

That sounded sarcastic. Dude, if the Raps can borderline on the 8th to 9th spot by the time Vince and Jalen are back, we're in the playoffs. Props to Marshall man. God who would've thought this would happen. Two stars out after the all-star break and one of our better players in Bosh playing injured. Only to the Raps [IMG]

i think its really lame to blast GG for not making a trade

obviously there wasnt an opportunity for our team to improve, or he would have pulled the trigger. hes never been shy to pull off a deal in the past. the last thing we needed was to panic and add a big man at the cost of the greater good.

with all our cap space comming up in the off-season, i think we should just chill and sign someone. its not like we're gonna win a championship this year, so no harm in just playing out this season as hard as we can, and pick up someone decent in the off-season

Next season we are gonna get a decent player....I wonder who. I also think we should have kept Yogi Stewert..better then that good for NOTHING Lamond Murray, Clevlend can have his butt back.
