Well guys... I'm a hardcore Cavs fan, but today at about 5:40 I went to ESPN.com and saw the trade. The Knicks are kicking ass now, with Tim Thomas in there now...they're going to be a force to be reckoned with. I just hope the Cavs can pull another big trade..and maybe start a Friendly Rivalry with the Knicks. GOOD JOB!! Burn
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ming637:</div><div class="quote_post">Vin Baker is out of the picture for trade right?</div> he will likley be signed by the knicks wendsday good deal for the knicks i was a sceptic because of the fact that i thaught van horn was doing well but i then relized that TT is the athletic big man we needed, the man has all the potential in the world and if isah molded artest and jemaine i think TT will do prety well under the wings of Lenny and Zeke

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ming637:</div><div class="quote_post">In NBA Live 2003, Joe Smith wasen't with the Bucks back then. Now he is.</div> 2003. I think we thought you were referring to 2004. Anyways, I like this trade for the Knicks. They get a good rebounder in Mohammed and an athletic player who can shoot and go to the low post when asked to. Somehow, I feel that Stephon Marbury was a part of the reason KVH was dealt. Good trade on the Knicks' behalf.
as a bucks fan, I like the trade, it works for both teams though. not that the fact you got thomas, because thomas vs KVH Straight up goes to KVH all day. But the fact you guys got Nazr. Zeke said he would have never made the trade if it was just KVH straight up for Thomas. I hope you guys don't have too many expectations for Thomas, he's a solid player with alot of talent that has gone to waste. I hear some of you calling him a big man considering he's 6'9/6'10 but he plays like he's about 6'4/6'5, i mean the guy has the perfect NBA body. but he averages under 5 RPG in over 30 mpg. don't get me wrong, I've never been a Thomas hater, and wish him well but glad to see him go. the only thing KVH lacks here is athleticism and usually when thomas trys to use that he gets out of control. Well again, thank God he's gone, this just means more for Dez mason and KVH can fill in the PF position which Thomas will never be able to play. good luck knick fans.
Isiah is the man!!!!!!!!!!! every since he took over the Knicks he?s been shafting the other GM's around the league. He definitely is one of the best GMs when it comes down to making things happen. But I'm baffled but the Bucks why take a player who is known to be soft and never shows up in the playoffs, when you already got a good young team thats growing together.....Makes no sense. Atlanta is purely in the deal strictly for cap purposes.....guess the new owner want to start off with a clean slate.

This trade clearly was only made because Knicks wanted a guy who would fit Stephon Marbury's style of play better. Van Horn has had a great season but isn't the kind of guy who can get up and down the floor on the break. Thomas can certainly do that, Knicks wanted a soild center which is what Nazr Mohammed is. Bucks get a good scorer and rebounder, a guy who can shoot the three consistantly and more importantly a guy who can play more than just small forward. Because of Thomas's lack of success at PF, he is not a good rebounder which is why that plan didn't work very successfully. Adding Van Horn at least gives them some better options for their frontline. I like this deal for both Knicks and Bucks As for Hawks Only words that matter here CAP ROOM
I think adding Narz Mohammed was a good job by thomas. but I dont know about the overall affects of this trade. Tim Thomas and Van Horn are similar players in imo. They both dont really have a dominate post game and spend to much time around the perimeter taking long jumpshots except Van Horn is a better spot up shooter. Tim Thomas is better of the dribble & on the fastbreak but I dont this trade upgrades the knicks that much. And this is a risky move by Isiah thomas because the Knicks were playing well. And making unnessary moves in the middle of the season could back fire. I think Thomas made this trade only because he didnt get Rasheed Wallace. And combine that with the fact that he didnt like Van Horn from day one when he took over the GM job. I dont think Van Horn could have done anything to impress Thomas. Van horn has been a nice 3rd option for the Knicks this season imo. He has had some injury problems this season but he has try to play thru most of it which shows some improvment in his character & heart. I just hope this trade doesnt back fire on thomas & the knicks because I think Van horn was going to be a big part of the knicks playoff success.

Van Horn's true spot is the 3, but when we go small he will be fine at the PF if Dez plays SF, why? because he can rebound better then thomas', thomas likes to camp on the 3 point line. it's simple though, Thomas's numbers keep declining. I like Timmy but when I watch him play it's like watching someone play in slow motion. he's more athletic then KVH but not as athletic as you think, he's VERY SLOW on defense, VERY ABSENT rebounding and NEVER plays with any intensity which does not fit our team. I'll take KVH's 16.5/7/2 in 33mpg compared to Thomas' 14/5/2 in 32mpg, and basically what our problem was is all Thomas' numbers came in the 1st and 3rd quarter, mostly 1st, he does not perform well in the clutch which is why he has not played any time in the last 8 minutes because Dez is a stud and always plays huge down the stretch with redd, it's sad redd and Dez are better rebounders then Thomas' at 6'5 and 6'6 while Thomas is 6'11 and just stands around and watches. either way, hope it works it out for ya, and i hope this works out for us, maybe Thomas' will learn to play the game the right way with you, maybe starbury can get some intensity out of him.
wow, the knicks have really changed their look... thomas addition is nice... imo he can still be a star right now, maybe all he needs is a little motivation and bigger market this is a perfect fit, plus he's more physical and athletic than Van Horn, Marbury must really like this one...
This was a great trade by the Knicks, bringing in a solid backup who I've always felt was underrated, and an athletic guy like Thomas to play alongside Marbury. I also like this trade for the Bucks and Knicks, though I don't know what the hell the Hawks are trying to pull with two overpaid big men. Now there are three guys named Thomas in with the Knicks!!! I'm really excited and can't wait to see these guys play in a game. I like this lineup a lot, and I can't see how the Knicks can't get into the finals. If they all play up to their potential, I think they'll be able to handle Indiana.
The Knicks don't automatically win with this trade. Tim Thomas is really going to have to produce now. He has the ability to do it, but at the same time, he has the ability not to do it. I'm surprised by this move as well for the Bucks. I thought they would make space for D. Mase. Apparently that's not the case unless there is another deal being worked out. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
At first I was kind of shocked about that trade...however it looks like Tim Thomas will be a good additon...not a selfish player and we'll do whatever he needs in order to win...he is an outside threat and very athletic.....Muhommad is also a good rebounder...I'm sorry to see Van Horn's NY reign end so quickly....but I got trust in Zeke...he knows what hes doing!
