Tell me more about the process of choosing.. .how many out of these 16 can be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Is there a certain number limit, or do they induct all who are worthy this year?

Dick Vitale should definitely be in it, as should Drexler. About the others... I'm not sure, because I haven't heard of many of them.

there should be a higher standard for the hall of fame. The way it is now they should just call it the hall of achievement. The Hall should be for the Elite of the Elite.....there are tons of cats that dont deserve to be in the Hall Of Fame.

I always had the mentality that whomever got what they got deserved it. In the other thread though, like Chukk said, David Thompson didn't really do much. I never even knew about the drugs and short career. He made too little of an impact.

As for others. What's done is done. They could've possibly done some great things to be inducted. Everyone's truly deserving in their own right. Just have to let things slide their way and accept them. Although one thing that isn't involved with the Hall Of Fame, but of the NBA 50 Greatest Players of all time. 'Nique....is all I need to say to let you all know of that robbery.

naw playa,I never said he didn't do anything or had very little impact. What I said was that an argument can't really be made for him being the innovator of the above the rim style because Doc had come along 3 years before hand and introduced the true, high flying style we enjoy today,or something along those lines.

Sorry if I misunderstood. He isn't one of the people I was still familiar with. All I ever really saw of him were his dunks and the fact that he really was the Skywalker. I never knew he was declared as a high flying innovator or pioneer before The Doctor.

He didn't play all that well for that little time he did, did he? He seems to have been an alright player. I liked his speed, explosiveness and mid range ability though. As far as others go, there are so many people in the HOF. Might as well bring more. It's nice to see that a lot of people get respected and awarded for their acheivements. I still think Parish too was just a good player. He was very slow in my eyes.

Other then that, again I go about, I'm glad people get to have the joy, pride and honor of being in a HOF. Top 50 has a limit, whereas this doesn't. However it really is too bad that even those who truly are not the best of the best make it. That is unfair of those who're really deserving and surpass them in those areas.
