<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LOS ANGELES -- Ronald Murray sat on the scorer's table at Staples Center, eyes scanning the crowd and smile reflecting the satisfaction of starring in the opening act of the NBA's showcase weekend. One fan asked for Murray's headband. Then a guy wanted his shoes. "This is crazy," Murray said after Friday's Rookie Challenge. It felt like November all over again. Murray was in demand. How much demand is a question the Sonics will gauge before Thursday's noon trading deadline. Only it won't be a fan's interest, but another franchise's. Earlier this season, the Sonics' front office preached patience and prudence. Now, a deafening chorus proclaims the team is aggressively approaching all options out there. Left unsaid is that Murray is one of the prime pieces of bait.</div> Link
i think murray will develop into an awesome players, he has an awesome crossover and he has good 3pt range. You can't bring murray off the bench, he's not that productive, but if you give him a starting role he will average those numbers he was in the beginning of the season, around: 20 ppg 4 rpg and 4 apg murray is explosive and maybe a good second option on a playoff east squad and a third option on a west playoff squad
I agree that Murray is a great asset offensively, I don't think anyone would argue against that, but he would need to improve his defense to be a starter on a Sonics team with immense depth in the backcourt. As much as I'd like for the Sonics to keep their young studs, they won't be a playoff contender until they get a big man. Despite his talent, Ron Murray is still a backup guard and if you can turn a backup guard into a starting center or power forward, I think that is a good move.
I'm nonplussed really. If you can get rid of a contract or get a worthwhile big man back then it's a decent deal, but if you don't trade him and let him grow as a player you never know what his potential will grow too. There are positives either way, it's just a matter of making the right choice.
Ron Murray has potential and since he's improving with every game, and learns how to defense he'll be big some time, I m sure of that !

Laziness there will not score you points with coach McMillan, but in the last few games before he sprained his toe, his defense has been surprisingly good.
I think that he just needs to practice on his defense...plus pass more...(like Allen said in one of the articles...)
in the rookie game...and he still needs to learn how to make wiser plays...he's got skills at putting the basket into the bucket, but I'm wondering is he a round player or a 2dimensional player
