The incumbent center is expected to lose his starting job to Nazr Mohammed and could find himself working in another city by Thursday's trade deadline.

They should keep Deke for blocking and rebounding, but it really depends on who we get in return.

I think Dikembe Mutombo might very well bee traded by the tone of voice Isiah used when he was talking about the current bigman rotation yesterday. He said "Kurt thomas & Nazr Mohommad make up an excellent defensive front line, and then you have Mutombo". That sounds like diKembe is going to be put on the back burner to me. The question is what can you get for Mutombo in a trade? Not alot imo.

I agree with that, Henacy. Dikembe is getting pretty old, and with the way Thomas has be restructuring the Knicks this year, he's definitely looking for a player that will be able to run the floor the whole time and play some minutes.

They better trade Dikembe while he still has some value left coz of his great games this season.

I propose you give him to a team in need of some serious size and defense. Such as the Sixers and the Magic. As for whom you'd receive, you need some speed and some great offensive ability to compensate for Houston's bad plays and Marbury's misses. As for whom, how about Tyronne Lue or Dalembert. A big man who can shoot.

Derrick Coleman can, but other then that he's as useless as Rodney Rodgers and Jason Collins, if not even more. Brent Barry is available too, he's a good bet, along with Mobley and Snow. Dampier should be who you should go after. Good on both ends. He'd be an incredible asset to your team.

The Sixers traded him for a reason. They don't want him back, seeing as Dalembert is a rising star, though he needs to learn to shoot.

Yes, Nazr if starting will get you atleast a double-double every game if given the proper minutes.

A Dallas-NY would be a good trade... Dallas needs size and any team certainly could use an all-round player like Walker or Jamison... Throw Mutombo in a package with a decent Forward and they could work out a deal...

Actually I like that and I don't see that as being such an unreal trade. I don't think they're too happy with Walker, and as always they are looking for size. Maybe a trade lick Walker for Mutombo and Anderson? I'm pretty sure that will work for salary caps too, and it would also give a defensive guard in Anderson.

Umm... They need a defensive center with size. They can give up offense, this trade isn't that unrealistic.

Mutombo for Jamison or Walker? I thought that Zeke would want a center for Deke after trading Doleac away. Who would they have backing the center spot up, Othella Harrington?

Maybe they'll sign one, but New York don't usually sign FA's to 10-day contracts.

They might actually start using Sweetney to come off the bench and play up front!

couple things here about the Center spot 1-deke is on the block and isiah is looking to trade him in a package with williams harrington and sweetney...for who? i dont know but look for a deal to happen before thursday
2-doleac will be waived by the hawks, if you need a link i have it he will most likely be re-signed by the knicks.
3-vin baker will 100% be signed by the knicks, but not before the 1st week of march because of the contract termination and the greavence filed by the players union
4- whenever NY plays a small team kurt thomas will be Center with Tim as PF Penny at 3 houston at 2 and marbury running the show

so i must say, if deke is traded i think the centerspot is in good hands

philly wouldnt want deke back espically since they have a rising star in dalembart the only thing deke is good for is some rebounds and maybe a block or two but we have that in a younger faster dalembart
