has any1 heard about the trade rumor thats going on. Its AI for steve francis. <font size="1"><font color="navy">EDIT: make your titles easier to read, thanks - SD</font></font>
Yeah I have. I seriously don't think it's going to happen. Both seem so equally matched and trading them won't help neither team out. It ain't goignt to happen IMO.
The Rockets' complaint is that Francis isn't passing the ball enough to Yao...imagine Iverson....are u kidding me....no way this trade is for real...
There's already like 5 topics on this. And Billy King, Sixers' GM, said on TV today that there is no truth to this at all.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">The Rockets' complaint is that Francis isn't passing the ball enough to Yao...imagine Iverson....are u kidding me....no way this trade is for real...</div> Francis passes the ball to Yao often.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ming637:</div><div class="quote_post">Francis passes the ball to Yao often.</div> Well, according to most people, Francis doesn't pass to Yao often enough...that's a big reason why francis is rumored to be on the trading block..
Only if the Sixers GM is an idiot that would happen. I'm not saying Steve sucks, but what does Steve have that Iverson doesn't have?? Nothing. Are they equally matched?? No. Phillie wants a franchise playernot Stevee Franchise.
Here: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"That is totally untrue," King said last night. "There is no credence to that whatsoever. I have talked to numerous teams on numerous occasions about numerous players on our roster. Not one time have I talked about trading Allen Iverson."</div>
Very ridiculous to even mention Allen Iverson's name in trade talks. I'll just say it like this: ALLEN IVERSON IS PHILADELPHIA! You drop Iverson off your team, and what do you have? Pretty much a horrible team that goes south. And no, even if Steve Francis was there, he's no way on Iverson's level.
That would never happen. If Allen Iverson went to Houston, he would have to play alongside Yao. Iverson will always want to be the first option.

Also Iverson's defense is far better. They do both turnover it quite often though. This'd be a big mistake, he'd provide more than Francis ever would. You'd simply be doing the Rockets a favor. They both ballhog occasionally, but they can pull it off. If you're gonna trade someone, make it that useless Derrick Coleman. You're better off with Walker or Van Horn.
AI was really supposed to be with Toronto but expansion teams are not aloud to have number 1 picks so they had to take number 2.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AirJordan:</div><div class="quote_post">AI was really supposed to be with Toronto but expansion teams are not aloud to have number 1 picks so they had to take number 2.</div> IMAGINE ! ..
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Canada:</div><div class="quote_post">IMAGINE ! ..</div> Well you'd also have to emagine the Raptors without Carter too, because with Iverson they probably would have done atleast a little better than they did... which would have possibly lead to a later draft pick... wich means no Carter!!
"King said earlier in the week there was no truth to a rumor of a possible trade of Iverson for Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis. When that subject was broached before Sunday's game in the East All-Stars' locker room, New Orleans Hornets guard Baron Davis - dressing next to Iverson - laughed and said, "I think Steve started that one." From Philly.com. I wouldn't let me quote it (
I don't think anything is out of the question right now. The Sixers are going nowhere with the current roster they're putting on the floor and the blame is going to end up falling squarely on Iverson's shoulders. If I were the Sixers I would most definitely entertain offers for AI, why not? With very little room to make moves, Philly's near future is looking very bleak. The Big Dog experiment has been a disaster, Ford and Iverson are already bumping heads and half the team is headed for social security. It would be difficult to get equal market value for Allen, but if the Sixers can acquire a talented starter or two along with some young prospects I would pull the trigger. BTW, I'm sure it doesn't mean anything, but did anyone see AI in that Spurs throwback garb? Hat and jersey, very interesting. Think of the possibilities...
