<div class="quote_poster">Quoting OgShowtime:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't think anything is out of the question right now. The Sixers are going nowhere with the current roster they're putting on the floor and the blame is going to end up falling squarely on Iverson's shoulders. If I were the Sixers I would most definitely entertain offers for AI, why not? With very little room to make moves, Philly's near future is looking very bleak. The Big Dog experiment has been a disaster, Ford and Iverson are already bumping heads and half the team is headed for social security. It would be difficult to get equal market value for Allen, but if the Sixers can acquire a talented starter or two along with some young prospects I would pull the trigger.
BTW, I'm sure it doesn't mean anything, but did anyone see AI in that Spurs throwback garb? Hat and jersey, very interesting. Think of the possibilities...</div>

Yeah I saw that. I wonder who he was wearing? And AI is not going to San Antonio. [IMG]

Ha, yes I'm sure it was Gervin. Maybe Gilmore? Those are the only Spurs old-timers I've seen getting any throwback love. Anyway, I know he's not going to San Antonio, that was very much tongue-in-cheek. I do think he'll end up leaving Philly though, maybe not today, but it looks like his days as a Sixer are numbered.

This deal wouldn't work one-for-one, there would have to be other players involved. Of course Iverson is a superior basketball player, but the Sixers are going to have to do something fast if they want to keep him happy and keep his heart in Philadelphia. In some ways, he looks almost as if he's given up on the prospect of this team having any chance of contending anytime soon, and he would know better than anyone. His game will never change, he's got the kind of heart and fire that you just don't find in the NBA anymore, very often at least, but lately he's looked dejected and apathetic off the court. As much as he might wantto stay out of loyalty to the city and fans, he might come to the point where he decides that he must leave in order to do what's best for himself. The losing is tearing him up, it's apparent.
