<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">New coach. New rules. Same old, same old, Chris Ford said, was no longer acceptable. The first evidence of bite from the new 76ers coach came to light last night when, after a lengthy practice at the Denver Athletic Club, he issued sheets of paper to the players that included explanations of new plays and Ford's home and cell-phone numbers. This was after the Sixers went through their first post-NBA All-Star break workout without Allen Iverson. </div> Full Story.
Same old, same old. I think during the offseason, you're going to hear a ton of rumors. I don't know his contract status right now, but by the way it's looking for the Philadephia 76ers and Allen Iverson, I think he's going to leave. To where? I have no idea.
Just heard this on Philly TV channel Comcast Sports Net... Iverson has been fined and won't start tonight. John Salmons will take his place.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">well do you guys even no why he missed the practice he could have a good reason</div> Good reason for what? This goes on time and time again. So I guess you make excuses for every practice he misses huh?

Iverson needs out of Philly. It just ain't working there anymore. It hasn't been for the past two years and it's gotten worse since Larry Brown left.
IM not makin excuses ron artest missed his practice to how come know one talks about him?? all im seeing is iverson could have had a legit reason he missed practice he told someone he was gonna miss practice its not like he decided he just didnt wanna go to practice

We all know he missed practice because he didn't want to go, same reason for Shaq(as he confessed today), and Ron Artest. It's not like Philly would have won anyways. :biggrin2:

That made my day. Thanks kvh4fan. Anyways, going on about this. AI is the leader, he has no right to do this, as good as he is, it is his responsibility to set an example for his teammates. Sure he plays hard and provides well for them, but missing them like Shaq does for virtually no legitimate reason is just wrong. It is everyone's responsibility and duty, plus a priviledge, everyone's game can use improving. This somewhat lowers my respect for him slightly. Still, great game for him and he's still....one hell of a workhorse.
Yes, AI has much heart on court as anbody in the league. but come on lets get serious for a minute, this is the sam ecat who ripped his team for not playing hard during a game. But when they see their Leadernever taken practice seriously, how can they ever take the game serious. The first part of playing hard on the court is working hard in practice. I think AI is a great player but he sometimes need to use better judgement off court. All the players look to Iverson for leadership, and seeing him missing practice really isnt going to motivate the team to work harder.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Magic Johnson:</div><div class="quote_post">Now that is one of the best things anyone has said in a very long time. That made my day. Thanks kvh4fan.</div> Being sarcastic, eh?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">Going into any game, every team has a chance.</div> Nah, you said it yourself... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">No they wouldn't have. These are the reasons why: -Ford ran new plays yesterday at practice. Iverson wasn't there. Iverson wouldn't know the plays. -Iverson had 27 points. How many more over 7 minutes do you think he would have scored? They lost by 21. So Iverson would have to have scored alot more in those missing 7 minutes just to get them a chance. Also, I don't think Chris Ford was concerned about winning that game. I look at it as Chris Ford wanted to make a statement. And by benching Iverson, he was telling him that, "Hey, you're the leader of this team. You either lead them by coming to practice and doing what you're suppose to or you get benched." If Ford wanted a better chance to win the game, he wouldn't have benched Iverson.</div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">Going into any game, every team has a chance.</div> Philadephia had a chance to win last night without Iverson? Hmmmmm.... LOL
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Laker_Fever_834:</div><div class="quote_post">Philadephia had a chance to win last night without Iverson? Hmmmmm.... LOL</div> They weren't WITHOUT him. He WAS there and PLAYING. And where did my long post go? It's no longer there... And Purple N Gold, I meant it as they wouldn't have done well if he STARTED since they had a bunch of new plays set up. They set them up with Johnny starting since AI wasn't there.
