http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1737586 as of now, he has scored 9 points in 5 minutes and has single-handedly brought them back into this game. he really is the only player on this team If you were the coach, would you have done the same?
I would have bench him,if I was the coach,if he missed practice without telling you but AI did call to say he wasn't going to practice. But AI didn't call Chris so he thought that AI had no respect for him and Didn't have a excuse. But I would have still benched him. There has to be a punishment for missing practice.
Benching someone for 3 minutes is a silly punishment. You only hurt your team...not the player (especially someone like AI). What a dumb decision by Ford....
What's up with all these players missing Monday practices? Iverson is the 3rd player to do so, Artest and Shaq did it as well. Artest did not start either, but Shaq did, Phil knows better.
It doesn't really matter to Iverson. I don't agree with Ford though. This was right after all star break. Ford should not have reacted the way he did, it was unnecessary. Ford should have gotten angry only if this was nowhere near the all star break, just a random skipped practice. However, since it wasn't, he just needs to let it slide or talk to Iverson in person about it.
I think Chris Ford is trying to get his ways across to the team. And I think benching him was a good idea. Iverson even said how he was angry about being benched. Maybe this will teach him not to miss practice anymore...
yeh the sixers end up gettin killed like 85 103 AI had 27 points,Melo had 28 is it just me or is dalmbart not playing as much
the coach was an idiot for bench ai if ai was in from the begging the 6ers might of won well maybe not melo was on fire but alle is the 76ers without him theyed be horrible which they already are but hes the only thing that gets them some wins here and there hes holding them together
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting tigger:</div><div class="quote_post">the coach was an idiot for bench ai if ai was in from the begging the 6ers might of won well maybe not melo was on fire but alle is the 76ers without him theyed be horrible which they already are but hes the only thing that gets them some wins here and there hes holding them together</div> No they wouldn't have. These are the reasons why: -Ford ran new plays yesterday at practice. Iverson wasn't there. Iverson wouldn't know the plays. -Iverson had 27 points. How many more over 7 minutes do you think he would have scored? They lost by 21. So Iverson would have to have scored alot more in those missing 7 minutes just to get them a chance. Also, I don't think Chris Ford was concerned about winning that game. I look at it as Chris Ford wanted to make a statement. And by benching Iverson, he was telling him that, "Hey, you're the leader of this team. You either lead them by coming to practice and doing what you're suppose to or you get benched." If Ford wanted a better chance to win the game, he wouldn't have benched Iverson.
