Yes, you read that correctly, the Miami Heat are officially in the playoffs. Both the Sixers and Celtics lost tonight against the Nuggets and Kings respectively, and because of the Heat's win tonight, we're now in 8th place and in the playoffs [IMG].

Dwyane Wade was an absolute beast tonight with 31 points, Stan Van Gundy ran a LOT of pick and roll plays for him, when Dwyane drives to the basket he can't be stopped. He pulled off a number of 3-point plays driving to the hole and coming out with and1 tonight. He was on the wing for this one play tonight with Deshawn Stevenson guarding him, Dwyane did this monster KILLER crossover and broke Stevenson's ankles and just drove to the hole for the easy bucket, it was incredible, a true showstopper... Skip was proud of him [IMG].

Rasual Butler came up big for us tonight with 15 points off the bench. AK47 was huge for the Jazz, if it wasn't for him this game would have just been a complete blowout, he had 31 points and hit 5 triples in a row.

I highly recommend watching the highlights of this game on NBATV later tonight, because there were a lot of spectacular plays tonight.

Let's just hope we can maintain our playoff berth and not go on another losing streak. Our next game is at home this Friday night against the Hawks, it will be very interesting to see what the look of both teams will be, because Pat Riley has confirmed that changes will be made before the trade deadline which is on Thursday and it will also be interesting to see if Sheed stays with the Hawks or if the Hawks deal him somewhere else. I think something is going to happen with John Wallace and Loren Woods, but we'll just have to wait and see.

    Box score.
    Official recap.

Didn't see the game or anything, but that was a mean cross Wade put on Stevenson!! Why did he have to do it to him like that?

It turns out that the folks at SportsCenter thought Dwyane's crossover was so nasty that it deserved the #2 spot on the SportsCenter top 10 list. Between this and his performance at the Rookie Challenge, it finally looks like the national media is beginning to recognize him, instead of hearing "Lebron this" and "Carmelo that" all the time, you're now hearing about Dwyane.

Mabye Skip will try and talk him into joining the And1 tour this summer :P.

Wow this is such great news. I'm glad Wade wasn't affected so much by injury. This shows just how much of a heart, how great his effort is and how big a star he is and will be.

Such a response, he's playing so well after coming off of injury. I hope he continues this great performance, the Heat need him. I wish Butler's offense would come back though. That crossover sounds real cool, I thought Wade was just a really awesome player who could shoot. Now I know he's much more.

It's always nice to finally hear about Rookies other then LeBron and Carmelo, him being one of the more deserving. Keep it up Wade, you're gonna be big man.

Wade is the MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! and he has quickly become the Heat's best scorer, he's so quick and so fluid with the ball and I swear since all the injuries it seems like his jump shot has improved. I'm glad Toronto passed on him because Wade is beginning to be virtually unguardable.
I got a question though, if we do make the playoffs how does that effect our trade position ? I mean if a team in the west has a better record that the heat but doesn't make the playoffs do they draft ahead of us ?

I said it in the last thread...Wade is destined to be a Superstar unless something bad happens to him. He will be a top ten player within two years...BELIEVE THAT!!!!!

23-33 and are tied for 8th place in th east.... damn the east is sad... I do like the Heat a lot though, I love Wade.. I've liked what I've seen of him since the first time I saw him in college, this guy got one bright future ahead of him.

Wade is just a great player and plays with heart.I'm glad injuries didn't affect him like it did with Caron. Its was the 3rd time Wade scored 30+ pts in a game.He has so much potential and will become a superstar someday soon.
People always Talk about Melo and Lebron and they are going to be ROY but Wade might be the Darkhorse and win it.

Wade has no chance at ROY unless he all of a suddenly posts up 30ppg, because the hype of LeBron and Carmelo only helps them with the way they've played so far. I like Wade a lot, like I've said many times, however I don't think anyone not named Carmelo or LeBron has a chance. If the season were to end today, I would probably go with Carmelo, at the end of the season I think we'll see LeBron winning ROY.

I think he has some chance. We never know what will happen,he might start putting up 30pts a game but its highly unlikely. Its probably going to be Melo or Lebron who are going to be ROY but if Wade plays like this more.He might win.

BY the way,did anyone of you guys know that The Score from this game with The Jazz and Heat is Exactly the same as last time when they played each last month? The only difference is That it is the Heat that won and not The Jazz.

Theres a long way to go before the playoff talk. Philadelphia will try and make a strong push, and they are just one game behind you guys.

Teams with losing records shouldn't even be considered for the playoffs. This year, there won't even be 8 seeds in the east with a winning record. Truely sad.

Anyhow, good for the Heat; Wade is something special.

Everyone has known who Dwyane Wade is since his sophomore year at Marquette. Without LeBron and Carmelo, Wade would be a superstar.

For Heat fans, how is Caron Butler doing?

Caron is beginning to regain his old form, but he's like the fourth option on offense behind Eddie Jones, Lamar Odom, and Wade.

Officially? That is 100% FALCE. Nothing is official yet numbskull, there is a lot of basketball to be played and no team has officially earned a playoff spot yet.

    Come on, pick it up.

Hey man, whats your problem? Just cuz the Cavs lost the past 5/6 & got blown out by the Mavs last night with Bron averaging 12 pts the past 2 games doesnt mean you have to take your sourgraping & negativity over here. Leave it in the Cavs board, & stop trolling!

Wow! 31 pts! Looks like Wade is bumping Bron to take the #2 spot for best Rookie considering he has lead the awful heat to more wins that the Cavs. If the heat make the playoffs & the Cavs dont, the best rookies are: #1 Melo, #2 Wade #3 Bron
