hmmm... will this change kobe's mind to stay as a laker? i know that kobe hasn't made his mind yet but i think that he'll leave lakers, hopefully not l.a. i just hope that he stays in l.a. and be a clipper. can't wait to see a clipper team with bryant going against lakers with shaq

Shaq said something nice about Kobe. Maybe he's not so bad afterall. This was very nice of him, I guess he really does value Kobe as a player as well as one of his best friends.

I think this could possibly sway Kobe to stay. Then again if he doesn't, you could get TMac. Kobe is much more clutch though. I much preferred when it when Malone and Gary Payton weren't around, too many people who want and need to handle the ball. Hopefully Malone will be out even longer.

Also going on these notes, I hope Rick Fox comes back soon. He'll provide some good offense for you. Good to see George and Fisher playing decently as well. Going on about Kobe, I too really respect him. Ever since the last season or two and the way he's reacted with his personal problems.

As much as I use to despise him before, he seems like a nice guy. He is no longer proud and speaks nicely of others. Plus he's a very strong and mature person, both on and off the court. I hope he stays, like Shaq said, he needs him, but then again so does Kobe.

Wait what... Rick has been back for 10 games now..?? He's been starting in place for George the last bunch of games because of defensive reasons. His offense isn't going great yet, but his shot is starting to come back.

That was a nice thing for Shaq to say about Kobe, but I believe Kobe is probably on his way out of town.... I mean what it comes down to is this... Kobe Bryant is young he has 3 rings (assuming he gets off of those rape charges), HE'S GONNA WANT TO PROVE TO THE REST OF THE NBA that he can carry a team to success by himself.. with HIM as the star.

I think this whole Kobe/Shaq relationship has been tainted a bit by the turn of events this offseason.. I think the sentiment coming from Kobe's side is that Shaq hasn't really been there for him, hasn't really been a bigger bro to him, and I think that doesn't rub Kobe the right way.. but I believe the entire thing about their relationship being crappy is just something the media has blown up to.... personally I don't believe their relationship is HORRIBLE.. but I wouldn't call it good either.

I really have a hard time seeing Kobe staying in LA after this season.. staying in LA as a Laker that is.. he's gonna be 25, and will have 4 rings [IMG], and has all the money he wants... why not go and prove to the world Kobe Bryant doesn't need Shaquille O'Neal to be great?

That is the complete opposite of what he said before. If the team is yours you shouldn't NEED anyone.

I personally think it would be funnier if the bike had no seat.

Getting back on topic, it seems Shaq's mind changes daily depending on his mood. The Laker soap opera continues with the same characters involved in the [love] Triangle Offense. Stay tuned for exciting developments for the summer. Will Phil Jackson return? Will Kobe part ways with Shaq? Will the Glove and the Mailman be back for another season of the Laker Soap Opera, or are they one year castoffs?

LMAO. Magic, you know I think you're a cool guy, but I think they are making fun of you because of the following paragraph:

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Magic Johnson:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq said something nice about Kobe. Maybe he's not so bad afterall. This was very nice of him, I guess he really does value Kobe as a player as well as one of his best friends.</div>
This is an example of reading WAY too much into something that happened. Kobe and Shaq are not little kids, a simple "I'm sorry" will not change things instantly. They have been through too much for a few words to make them change and be friends.

There were a lot of things wrong with your post, but that was the main one.

I agree with Shapecity...Shaq seemingly changes his attitude daily....One day, he says Kobe is his favorite player, the next Kobe is a ballhogging jerk...Phil Jackson is a great coach, then Phil is an idiot...Kobe can opt out for all I care, o i need Kobe....

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trail_blazer76:</div><div class="quote_post">That is the complete opposite of what he said before. If the team is yours you shouldn't NEED anyone.</div>

But I will say this...Shaq saying he needs Kobe and Shaq saying its his team isn't contradictory...Those two ideas aren't mutally exclusive...just because its your team doesn't mean you don't need anyone else....Jordan needed Pippen, Magic needed Worthy and Kareem, Isiah Thomas needed Dumars, etc etc...

I knew that someone would say this. I really don't think that Jordan needed anyone. He was fortunate to have Pip, but didn't need him.

If he could win with Luc Longely as his center, he could have won with a lesser sf.

    Oh he didn't?

I like Mike, but without Pip there would be no championships.

You are missing the point. I am saying that Jordan could have had a lesser sf and still won. For example one could argue that if Shaq had Ray Allen the Lakers would still have won the championships.

Wait before you say that my statement is ridiculous. The only reason that I used Ray as an example is because he is a sg who is clearly not as good as Kobe, but still fairly elite.

My point is that it wasn't about Pip, it was about MJ. Mj could have won with a significantly lesser sf. Pip was expendable.

C'mon you can't believe what you just said.

MJ couldn't have won with a lesser SF. Pip's defense on it's on won alot of critical games. To say MJ could have won with a 'lesser' SF is ridiculous. Not only was Pip's on court play a huge key to the Bulls success but the fact that MJ went hard against him in practice elevated Jordan's game to new heights. Without Pip the Bulls wouldnt have won 6 titles, nor would Jordan be as great.

Ray may not be overall as good but he sure lights Kobe's ass up everytime they meet.

That is ridiculious to say MJ could have done it without Pip, and also to say Shaq could do it with a Ray Allen type player. Are you kidding me? No way Shaq could have done it with a lesser SG, horrible statement.

Anyways, back on topic, Shaq changes attitudes all the time. I think were all used to that by now, he knows he needed Kobe all along, but was just trying to play it off during the fued. And now he's just trying to put it out now that he needs him, Kobe knows that, this isn't going to please him at all. I think it's more of Shaq being scared that now the talks are heating up about where Kobe will play next season.

yes, i'm a laker fan. look at my Fav. Team, it says Lakers isn't it? [IMG]

i don't want him to see in another uniform but if he does, i think clippers suits best for him. it doesn't mean that i'm not a laker fan just because i want kobe to be a clipper, that's just an opinion if he goes somewhere. [IMG] one big reason i watch the lakers is because of kobe. i'm still going to be a laker fan no matter where he landed [IMG]

Why are you already thinking ahead to the future? All Laker fans want to see Kobe as a Los Angeles Laker. Why do you want to see Kobe as a Clipper? One big reason you watch the Lakers is because of Kobe? I'm a Laker fan, and I watch Kobe and the other 14 guys on the roster perform on the basketball court. You're still going to be a Laker fan if Kobe leaves the Lakers, yet a big reason you watch the Lakers is because of Kobe? Hmmm....

LOL. I really think that JBB should start requiring a literacy test (that is not directed specifically towards Nasty).

When I said 'lesser' I meant not as good as pip. And no, I don't think that Shaq would have necessarily won with Ray. But if you people would read my post (this is where the literacy test would help JBB) you would know that I was simply using Ray as an example.

The Bulls were not like the Kings. They had great chemistry, but I think that they won more on talent and understanding of the game. Hence, my point was that a sf who was significantly less elite than Pip could have helped MJ to win as well.

No, I did not say that Shaq would have without a doubt won with Ray. It's called an analogy. Stay in school kids.

well whateva playa, but if that's case..some people on JBB need to actually know what the hell they talkin' bout before postin'...if you think MJ could have done the same with a lesser player than Pip you are sorely mistaken. Pip not only did things during games but it was MJ going against Pip in practice everyday that took his game to a whole other level. Besides,Pip's D wasan extremely crucial cog in the Bulls machine. No other SF in the NBA played the type of D Pip did and without that the Bulls would NOT have won.But I guess you forgot what happend before Pip came into his own and was a lesser player. No titles huh?
