<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Raptors and Seattle SuperSonics have been talking trade, and it's the Sonics' interest in forward Donyell Marshall that is driving the discussions. According to three NBA Western Conference sources, the Raptors and Sonics are pondering a transaction that would send Marshall and swingman Morris Peterson to Seattle, with veteran 6-foot-6 guard Brent Barry and third-year 6-foot-9 forward Vladimir Radmanovic coming to Toronto. The NBA's trade deadline is tomorrow at 3 p.m. </div> Full Story.
^ The Sonics won't, though, and with good reason. Donyell is the sticking point on this deal, not Mo-Pete.
Donyell Marshall is playing great in the Toronto system, and I don't think moving him is the right move. He is the only one I really feel is playing well all season for the Raptors, not including the often injured Bosh ofcourse. He's been great for the Raps, and I wouldn't center a deal around him unless they could get another big scorer.
vince hs been playing good for the raps too, (untill now at least) but yea...donyell has been great. if the raps give him up for radmanovich and barry, gotta admit ill be pretty upset. raps dont need a swingman or a 4...raps need a center. they should be going after damp
I wouldn't done this trade, can't Sonics trade that man to Cavs instead? They need every good threepoint shooter they can get right now!
Barry and Peterson are already established scorers, plus Barry wants to leave Seattle. Maybe he'd put in more effort and play better if he were on another team, Mo' Pete' provides so well for you already, him, Donyell and Alvin, they just have such effort that they truly are gems on the Raptors roster. If you wanna trade for someone, try for Dampier, I know it'd be hectic once Bosh was back though. So bad idea. As far as Barry and Mo' Pete' goes, I'm sure neither would take too well to it. Both are great in game shooters but Mo' Pete' is just too clutch, too dependable and too reliable to give away. Same as Alvin Williams. Underrated players. You need some more defense on the Sonics so trade for a big man with defense, Ray can pretty much handle your offensive load with Rashard and some of the other Sonics.

That rumour involving the Spurs was made up by San Antonio as a PR stunt because they want Brent, whose management denied it. In fact according to KJR Seattle radio, contract talks with Barry have been quite productive, and there's a good chance he stays in Seattle to finish his career. His contract situation means that his trade value is high, and of course the Sonics will look into deals involving him. That's what an NBA franchise does, doesn't mean he necessarily wants to leave. Mo-Pete 'too clutch, dependable and reliable'? That would explain why his minutes have dropped from 36 to 23 a game, even before Rose was traded to them.
