I was listening to the Rod Brooks Show on KNBR yesterday, and he was talking about how the Warriors should give Isaiah Rider a chance, considering that he's a hometown player who grew up in the Bay Area and went to school in Alameda, and seems sincere in his apology. He thinks that there's a chance that Rider can be a good contributor for the Warriors.

Personally, I think that there's no way we should sign him. While he might still have some game, there are definitely going to be some problems concerning playing time (where would he fit in with the Warriors?- we have enough 2's and 3's). What do you guys think?

He's a good 3 point shooter, does he play defense?

I listen to the Rod Brooks show too.[IMG]

I heard him talking about this but I am not a big fan of the idea. The Lakers took a chance on him a few years back and he didn't do anything for them. The guy had so much potential but it was over looked by all of his off court trouble. Seems to be a trend these days...

Rod Brooks is the man. Anyways, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea for the Warriors. Their not really in big contention, the guy said he wants another chance, give him a 10-day contract, if he messes up then he's gone. That simple, I'm convinced after that interview he did on TNT for All-Star Weekend that he has cleaned up his act and deserves another chance in the NBA. Interesting to see what happens.

J.R. Rider needs to show me what he has done to improve himself first. That means more than having a nice bod and saying some nice things. Prove himself in the CBA, ABA or the Developmental League. Show that he is willing to put in the long hours to make a comeback and to play hard for an extended period. Before then, no way. With young guys around, the last thing you want is a bad influence.

J.R. also had a funny habit of skipping practices and being late to show up for suiting up for games.

Yeah... he reminded me a lot of Dennis Rodman in that sense. Just did a lot of stupid stuff, and while he was talented, he never really had his head completely in the game.

I think we should pull Bill Curley out of retirement.
