    Trade envolving Atlanta/Detroit/Boston.

Just woke up...read on ESPN.COM that talks are going that R.Wallace will be heading to Detroit and Atkins to Boston, not sure what Atlanta is getting but this trade absolutely makes no sense unless we get Atkins and not have to give up anyone. Wallace to Detroit, Atkins here, and since Aktins is garbage we would probably be giving Mike James or something to the Hawks. I don't see this trade valueing anyone but the Pistons. This is how I think the trade should go.

Raef Lafrentz/Marcus Banks to Detroit (combined stats)
    ppg 13.1, rpg 6.40, apg 3.6

    Rasheed Wallace to Boston
    ppg 17.1, rpg 6.60, apg 2.5

    Ben Wallace to Atlanta
    ppg. 9.7, rpg 13.2, apg 1.9

I don't see the Pistons getting Rasheed Wallace by giving up only Chucky Atkinson, that can't be all there is to the deal. Detroit will likely have to move Prince as well if they plan on making a swap like this. Boston acquiring Atkinson is a non-factor, but again, there has to be more to this trade. Got Link?...

Why? did Joe Dumars turn stupid?

This is all about cap space and trying to get a high pick for Atlanta. Pistons also want to clear cap space which is why they are trying for Boston to take Atkins

Sheed heading to Detroit will happen if the Celtics do their part.

This is pretty much a done deal...I will be surprised if it doesn't go through.

Showtime no Pistons won't have to give up Prince, all that will be given up will be

Fowlkes, Sura, Rebraca, Hunter, and a 1st rounder

Joe Dumars had better be ready to hide out like Osama if he plans on trading Ben Wallace. That would be straight-up suicide. Boston will have to give something up here for the deal to go through, as will Detroit. Atlanta wants to move Wallace for sure, but why the hell are they going to give him to Detroit when they have all the leverage? The Hawks are going to demand some actual talent be sent in their direction if this deal is going to happen.

Isn't LaFrentz out for the rest of the season?

Rebraca and Sura combine to make 10 million. If the expiring contract from Boston in Mills, it would be 17 million in expiring contracts for Sheed's. so they dont lose any of that cap space they wanted for at the end of the year. And even with a worse team they will lose more games. If you not going to make the playoffs and you want to rebuild how, whats the best way to do it? Cap space and to get high draft picks

    The deal is

    Rasheed Wallace to Detroit
Fowlkes, Sura, Rebraca, Hunter, and a 1st rounder, Mills to Atlanta
    Chucky Atkins to Boston

If Ainge agrees that deal will go down.

Man, that's one heaping pile of stinky lottery cheese the Hawks would be acquiring. Next best thing to having talented players is having terrible ones who's contracts are about to expire and free up millions of dollars in cap space. The ATL can now compete for the worst record in the league with confidence, this could be the worst looking team the NBA has ever seen. Just one question: If the Hawks play a game in Phillips arena and nobody sees it, did it really happen?

The Pistons are trying to rent Rasheed Wallace to win the east while dumping cap space so the can resign Okur. Joe Dumars is a genious. but the Pistons still wont come out of the east.

Looks like Joe and Isiah are doing a little friendly sparring from the GM's chair these days. This deal is such a steal for Detroit it's sick, the only player of substance or value in that group is Fowlkes, (maybe Sura), but come on - this is ridiculous. Now the Pistons can make a serious run at the eastern crown and still resign Okur for next season, it's a brilliant transaction for Dumars. Indiana's supposed stranglehold on the east will be lessened drastically if this deal does happen. I wouldn't bet against a well-prepared, Larry Brown coached team with the Wallaces' and Okur up front, Billups, Prince and Hamilton. That's just about as good a six-man rotation as you'll find in the east, and most of the west for that matter.

I don't think we should even answer phone calls from Detroit if all they are offering is that bum Atkins. We might as well just wait for the off-season and make all our moves there.

A genious wouldn't have selected Milicic over Anthony, but this is more or less an obvious cheapshot on my part. Joe Dumars didn't hatch some glorious plan here, Atlanta wanted to trade Wallace, if they didn't, Dumars would have done nothing. He gave the only players Atlanta would accept.
There is no deep thinking here.

Why would the pistons wanna give up Ben Wallace? Rasheed will most likely go to the Knicks at the end of the season, but giving up Ben and Rasheed for Banks and LaFrentz? Pathetic.
