<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lunetik4raps:</div><div class="quote_post">This is a tricky injury, I've landed on a ankle more then once before landing on another's foot during my streetball days and its the most painful experience a person can get playing basketball but at the same time it isn't always serious, its the pain that lasts for a couple of days. Hopefully it aint to bad but it really didn't look good.</div> I broke a bone in my foot in a play just like that one, landed on a guy's foot after comind down from a jumper.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Phreeze:</div><div class="quote_post">I broke a bone in my foot in a play just like that one, landed on a guy's foot after comind down from a jumper.</div> Damn, well I let my left foot leave the ground as soon as I felt the pain every time it happened and landed on the ground so I didn't put pressure on the foot, some people react slow and it ends up twisting too far when they land.
I never really believed it till now. Sir Charles was right, he really is so injury prone. Tough luck Raptors. But like many other people have said before me. Things like this are pretty much beyond our control it was no one's fault. Fact of the matter is **** happens. Going on about this, speaking on lighter notes. Bowen was just defending, it was just a scenario of the right place at the wrong time. Even though it's really serious, I hope Vinsanity pulls a Dwayne Wade and continues to play well after coming out of injury. Wish I could say the same for Ray Allen.
What do you mean, you wish you could say the same for Ray Allen? Anyway, it can't be blamed on Bowen for defending. Had he jumped, Carter had an open man to pass to, and/or Vince could've pump faked and dribbled off, if he hadn't picked it up yet. But anyway, it was bound to happen again. Half amazing, half a season.
Did you actually see the game? Watch the replay. Watch Bowen right after Carter takes the shot. Bowen and Carter have has their mixes in the past two years. I'm sure this was intentional. Your quoting from Leo Rautins? *Sigh* <div class="quote_poster">Quoting thefranchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">That is just ignorance if you blame Bowen for playing defense, it was nothing close to intentional. No one can be blamed for Vince's injury, it was simply an accident. I bet he'll be out for a significant amount of time, he landed really hard on it. Leo Rautins said it didn't look good.</div>

gee, im surprised to see all the vince haters in here making wise cracks and the ever surprising "what a shock" comments. i think its not much of a stretch to maybe speculate if it was intentional or not. a veteran defensive player like bowen whos been accused of being a dirty player in the past is BOUND to know some tricks. iv watched the replay at least a dozen times, and he does appear to slide his foot under carter after he puts his hand up to contest the shot. he wasnt stabling himself, he just slid his foot underneath vince as he was in the air. of course there is no way to proove it, but like i said...its not a stretch to speculate. especially after watching the replay as many times as i did. injury looks bad though...really disapointing...i was hoping that this would be the year that vince proved hes NOT an injury prone player. im gonna try and stay optimistic and hope for just a few days and not a few weeks.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">i was hoping that this would be the year that vince proved hes NOT an injury prone player.</div> How would one year have proven that? He's gotten injured throughout his career. One year is not enough to prove that he isn't injury prone, considering how many other years he has proven that he is.

^ Hahaha. You have better things to think of dude. Like how they're going to survive without Carter, Jalen and Bosh.

Vince Carter injury update well the RAptors press release says that VC now has a MODERATE sprain so its most likely that VC will only miss about 2 wks instead of 4 wks
Great News. 4 weeks is not good at all. 2 weeks is alot better. Hopefully he will come back and play well. Bosh aswell.
lets see.... Jalen Rose/Vince Carter/Chris Bosh all injured..... Glen Grunwald did not make a single trade.... this does not look good for the raptors and GG's future job....
Vince "the limp" Carter...becomin' an all too common theme with this cat. He needs to take better care of himself in the offseason....and before anyone says it don't matter..you are wrong as can be...it matters ALOT.

This kind of injury is unavoidable if you actually saw the play and just about any player would suffer the same fate in such a situation.
The Raptors will be playing the Heat on March 2nd which is a few days short of 2 weeks, I really hope Vince is back by then because I want to see him play. Also BigNasty, any player on any given day in the NBA could have been injured the same way as Vince, this particular injury has absolutely nothing to do with how he takes care of himself in the off season or even during the season.
