The Hornets spanked the Wizards in a Wednesday night rout. This is pure Hornets basketball, and shows that the Bugs are carrying over their momentum from their big win over the Pacers and running with it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[Baron] Davis had 23 points and 13 assists as the hot-shooting Hornets used a 37-point third quarter to race to their third straight win, a 120-98 trouncing of the Wizards. </div> Not only did Baron put up 23 and 13, but Mash had a season high of 26. And the rest of the team contributed as well, with Armstrong recording 18 points, Steve Smith had 14 on 5-5 shooting, including 4-4 treys, and their big man corps was solid, led by rookie David West. West had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks, All Star Jamaal Magloire had 11 pts, 9 rebounds and 1 block, PJ Brown had 6 pts and 8 rebounds, and Robert Traylor had 6 pts, 3 rebounds and a block. If New Orleans can continue to play like this, there is no way that Indiana or New Jersey will be able to beat them in the playoffs. The only question mark lies with Detroit, which acquired Rasheed Wallace today while giving up approximately nothing. http://www.nba.com/games/20040218/WASNOH/recap.html
