The Jazz traded D-Steve and a second round pick to Orlando for Gordan Giricek. They also traded Keon Clark and Ben Handlogten for Googs and TWO first round picks.

I like both trades, expescially the Googs one. Deshawn is one of those players who can have a breakout season at any stage, and I hope he doesn't do it in Orlando, and he's very capable of it. He could have the next Jermaine O'Neal like breakout. Gordon Giricek should come in and contribute immediately, but probably wont be part of the Jazz's rebuilding scheme. The Googs trade is awesome, we got rid of two injured players, who weren't doing that much when they were healthy, and aren't that young either for Googs and two first round picks. Those picks should make up for Deshawn. But I don't think those trades are going to make the Jazz playoff bound, but the future looks better now. I'm not that surprised Deshawn got delt, the Jazz always seen him as a vital part of their future, and I'm not at all surprised they acquired Gordon Giricek. He can score, is a white swingman (not trying to sound racist but look at the roster) and will fit in well with Utah and will excell under the Jerry Sloan system. Giricek and Stevenson's stats are similar, but Giricek has an advantage in 3pt shooting and free throw shooting. Both of which will be welcomed by Utah. Utah would've seen something in Giricek, they didn't need to deal Stevenson, but always flurted with the idea of doing it and I don't think this trade was made to get rid of him.

I think the Jazz got the better end of the Stevenson deal, I like Giricek's game. They also did well in the Gugliotta deal, Clark was never a fit in Utah and the first rounders are always nice when you can get 'em. Good job by the Utah front office.

Classic Jerry Sloan. I also think the Jazz got the better of this deal. Giri was lost on the Magic, and digressed since he came to the league with the Grizzlies. He has a great shot, something the Jazz are lacking, and he'll give them another score on the court. The Jazz have not had a consistent scorer besides AK47, since Harpring was injured.

I don't know I Loved how Stevenson played yesterday night..one thing that Orlando needs is defense which Giricek didn't have at least not as good as Deshawn and Stevenson can also rebound the ball very well , Giricek never got along with T-Mac since the first day he was with the Magic.

He never really got a chance. He played two games, with under 5 minutes in each of them. This was because of his knee, he spent a while considering surgery, then he had it. He's meant to come back early March.
