Anyone who thinks Pistons gave up too much in this trade seriously needs to get their head checked. Bobby Sura, Rebraca and Atkins for an all-star type player? In the words of Dicky V

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Yeah I agree on that one. They definitely got a great deal for what they gave up, and even if they don't keep Rasheed now they got the cash to offer to Okur, which is something they've been wanting. I don't like the fact that they traded three PGs away in one day, though. Now they have a pretty thin lineup at PG, I would have tried to keep Sura instead of getting James.

Sura is really a shooting guard, Hunter was injured and wasn't going to play anyway. Mike James has had a very good season in Boston, averaging 10 points 3 rebounds 4 assists a game. Thats pretty damn good I must say for a thrown guy.

as excited as i am about Rasheed coming, i'm very interested to see how well Mike James can play backup PG. he might play substantial minutes and have the opportunity to make an impact.

I think he'll definitely make an impact. He can give Billups a chance to play a few less minutes and stay fresh for the playoffs. He's also a much better shooter from the field and hits 38% of his threes while taking an average of over 4 per game.

among the guys traded, Chucky Atkins was probably the fan favorite.

i'm kind of sad to see him go. he came here with Ben Wallace when we did the sign and trade with Grant Hill.

both Wallace and Atkins proved to be important parts of our rebuilding. his final interview he said he was sad to leave Detroit. he was a class act while he was here and i hope he does well in Boston.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starchild:</div><div class="quote_post">i can't believe the pistons would do this to my team!! I have been a fan for 15 years and counting and i bring my son to the games in detroit and he looks at these players as role models. Why would i want him to go and watch a man who is convited for having and smoking weed. How can i go and pay to watch them now, i am seriosly considering refunding my season tickets. this is absurd , i feel bad the organazation is going in this direction!!!</div>

It's pretty naive to believe Sheed's one of a few guys in the nba to be smoking weed. He's just one of the few that actually got caught. Anyways, there's players in the nba who're doing worse things than smoking up (i.e. Kobe... j/p)

As for the trade.... well we'll be seeing the Pistons in the nba finals this season. That's all I gotta say.

I've seen him play in only a couple of games, and he hasn't deserved to be traded from what I've seen. I thought he did pretty well (although I haven't seen alot of Piston games). I still don't know what was up with Sura though. I GUESS he has some kinda skill (since he's in the NBA) but don't see him worthy of minutes with a good team. Good job in getting rid of him IMO.

Don't forget about the $10 million of cap space clared up by all of this....... that alone makes it worth it.

And if you are mad about your son seeing peopole that smoke weed, you may want to move to Greenland or something, this IS Detroit...... everybody and thier momma smokes. You could sell them tickets to me!!! Then me and Sheed can match blunts during halftime.

2 worthless draft picks that will not even be close to be being high. 3 players who had basically nothing to the team. Chucky Atkins is the only guy you could say has an effective on the Pistons, but Mike James will replace anything he brought to the Pistons

    Look at whats added

    17 points 6 rebounds a game
    10 points 3 rebounds 4 assists a game

I don't think even the 3 players production that left equals what Mike James has done. Never mind Wallace.

I think your being to harsh, it was a good trade basketball wise. Im sure you yourself have smoked weed in the past and im sure your son will in the future, its somthing we all try at some stage or another, its not like he's a convicted murder or anything, and he doesnt smoke on court, so what your son cant see cant hurt him can it!

No Kidding.. Who cares if he smokes weed? Almost every player in the NBA does anyways. It should be made legal IMO but that's a different matter. I don't care how well Sura, Atkins plays.. Fact is : Wallace can have a breakout night on any given night and be the best player in the league if he wants to(As Pip once said), the skills are all there, I only doubt his motivation. I read a quote of Wallace saying that he doesn't care who he's playing for or what their record is, he is only playing for the money. Which really doesn't sound like a player that's motivated to win a championship. But an unmotivated Wallace is a much better player than the Pistons could have ever hoped for at the deadline.

Wow I can't believe he said that. I just lost my respect form... ok maybe not. I guess everyone pretty much does things for money, at least he was being honest, right. Someone needs to lower his pay and maybe he'll work harder.

Well in todays league can you blame him? I mean he went from Portland to Atlanta to Detroit in the space of a week, I would feel the same way if I was him.
