<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DETROIT -- Rasheed Wallace moved to the Detroit Pistons in a three-team trade Thursday after playing only one game for the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta acquired Wallace from Portland last week. In a deal put together shortly before Thursday's NBA trading deadline, the Pistons sent center Zeljko Rebraca, guard Bob Sura and a first-round draft pick to the Hawks. That pick will come from Milwaukee this year if the Bucks make the playoffs. Detroit also sent guards Lindsey Hunter and Chucky Atkins, its first round pick this year and cash to Boston, while the Celtics shipped Chris Mills to the Hawks. The Pistons received guard Mike James from the Celtics.</div> More here.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K-Nothin 2:</div><div class="quote_post">Now The Hawks Just Went to A More Worst Team Than They Are!!!</div> No, really? everyone pretty much expected the Hawks to use Wallace as bait anyways, they aren't going anywhere.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K-Nothin 2:</div><div class="quote_post">Now The Hawks Just Went to A More Worst Team Than They Are!!!</div> I know I dont know why teams agree really bad trades like this. It sometimes makes it seem like the NBA is fixed... like why does the east trade all of its great players to the West and stuff like that?
You guys need to understand that the Hawks aren't even concerned with this season. They already know they have virtually no chance of making the playoffs so what they're doing now and all the moves they have made recently are attempts at rebuilding the team in preparation for next season. The reason they traded their good players like Shareef is because they wanted the cap space, and because of this they will be able to sign almost any big name free agent in the offseason. The Hawks are definitely going to the lottery so they'll get a low first round pick and then another first round pick from the trade they made today, then they'll have a ton of cap space and will be able to sign a superstar free agent or something along those lines. The Hawks are doing what's best for the future of the franchise, they are well aware that the 2003-04 season is a waste. If you expected Sheed to still be in Atlanta after the trade deadline, let alone next season, that's just being naive.
Wow, the Hawks have him for a week and then ship him off to Detroit...what a wild season this has been!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting franchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">How could Sheed have gone? Wasn't there a ruling that states that he can't get traded 45 days after?</div> No, you can't trade him with other players on that team in a package deal, you can do a straight up deal or in this case a 3 way.

What will be the starting line up now? Something like this? PG - JT SG - Sjax SF - Diaw PF - Rebraca C - Przybilla

Hell with a lineup like that they might not reach 80points again this season.. That is by far the worst offensive lineup in the NBA.
It may be the worst lineup in the league, but think about next year. They know that they aren't going to make the playoffs, they are in a rebuilding process right now. It will be interesting who they spend their money on this summer. They can pretty much sign anyone. It's kind of like the Nuggets. They went from having a horrible team, but saved a lot of money and bought a team the next year. That's what I see the Hawks doing.
Stephen Jackson is out of Atlanta at the end of the season, you can bet your money he is going to opt out and use that player option he has. Knight's plan is to get high draft picks with plenty of cap space, only problem is what big name free-agents will want to play in Atlanta? not many, certainly not all-star type players.
How much games have the Hawks won? Charles Barkley said if they win 25 games he'll throw a party for them. Lol. And wow, Wesley and Rasheed get traded twice in the same season. But after 1 game, unbelievable.

This is definitely a huge attraction to any superstar player.

The hawks are going to apsolutely horrible for the rest of this year. But with a few draft picks and a free agent or two, they could be very good next year. Good luck to them.
