The Phoenix Suns announced today that forward/centers Keon Clark and Ben Handlogten have been acquired from the Utah Jazz in exchange for forward Tom Gugliotta, two conditional first-round draft picks, a 2005 second-round draft pick and an undisclosed sum of cash.

Phoenix will give up the least favorable of its two first-round picks in the 2004 NBA Draft, either its own or New York's selection, which was acquired from the Knicks in a trade on Jan. 5. The second conditional first-round pick was also acquired from New York and is protected through 2010.

Well this means that in the next draft, in the first round, Utah should have a lottery pick (their own), the least favourable of Phoenix's two draft picks. That will be New York's first round pick. New York should make the playoffs in the East with a lower seed so it should be a pick with the 14-18 range. Also, the conditional first round pick acquired from Houston might be used. So Utah should have 2 first round picks this draft, one at the end of the lottery and the other just after it. Hope I've cleared that up for people who wanted to know.

I think we also have a 2 or 3 second round picks. And the Jazz has always had great picks in the second round.

Googs might actually bring more to the table than you think. Does anyone else remember his glory days as an All-Star with the Wolves? Unfortunately, he broke his knee, but he's still a valuable sixth man like McDyess, Kemp, and Baker are.

I agree with Wave. He will be more valuable than 2 guys that weren't even playing at the moment. Plus, there is always a chance Gugs could have his career resurrected in Utah. Its the Jerry Sloan system that makes alot a players up their game. They have more of a chance to get involved in the scoring.
