<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Los Angeles Lakers guard Gary Payton and Golden State Warriors guard Speedy Claxton were fined by the NBA on Friday for fighting.

Payton was fined $15,000 and Claxton $7,500 for an altercation midway through the third period of Wednesday's game.

After Claxton was called for a foul while trying to make a steal, Payton elbowed him in the chest. Claxton angrily shoved away Payton's arm, and Payton wrapped his arms around Claxton while driving him into the scorers' table.

Fair punishment, GP acted in haste there.

Fair move by the league. Although I felt a suspension should've been involved with Gary Payton.

Don't know why Claxton was fined here, but I think it was fair to fine GP for his actions.

Good move by the NBA. I seen this one ESPN. Gary Payton acted like a 13 year old in this situatuion. Isn't this his 3rd rejection from a game in like 10 games?

Nah, the first one was against Dallas, Philly, then Golden State. All pretty spread out.

Well, all I have to say is that Payton got off lucky. IMO he should have been suspended a game, but at least it is just a fine!

I would've loved to see the 5'10" Claxton whoop that ass.

Your talking just like those ESPN people. He was talking, and got pushed into him, so it looked like he tried to bite him. He cleared that up with the media yesterday.

Anyway, are you guys kidding me? GP is from Oak-Town, he would put a whoopin on Speedy's little ass.

GP needs to stop getting thrown out of the damn game. He gets ejected more than dennis rodman. We cant have that in the playoffs
